It all started so well... our friendly B&B host recommend this place... however it ended up being a waste of money...
Firstly, there was bacon in the tuna ragù pasta - although we previously shared, we did not want any bacon in the sauce.
The waiter - who appeared spaced out - told us that the sauce was made only with tuna. When we showed the waiter the evidence, he called the “wannabe” cook who tried to explain to us that the tuna sauce needed 10% bacon for the “extra flavor”. As a side note, there was mostly carrots in the sauce and hardly any tuna.
Secondly, as written in the menu, we were really looking forward to eating the well known local Pachino tomatoes as a side dish (contorni).
What we imagined: red, ripe and tasty Sicilian tomatoes that grew in the sun! In other words, something worth the 5€ they were advertised for.
What we got: tasteless and watery tomatoes that never got exposed to the sun and you would get in a cheap supermarket at 99cents/kg, i.e. false advertisement.
Thirdly, what definitely made this a “memorable” experience are the various hilarious explanations of the “waiter” who after having been asked for an explanation on the above, told us he was actually a musician rather than a waiter and preferred to be remembered as such . Due to his lack of knowledge about the food, the “wannabe” cook came out to “teach” us why the tomatoes were tasteless and admitted that sometimes he buys low quality tomatoes and sells them as Pachino ones. After this, they removed the tomatoes from the total bill.
In summary, we felt cheated and paid way more than what the food quality, service and restaurant atmosphere were worth.
