“Great view and location”

The apartment is exactly as described in the reviews and the pictures are very accurate.
The balcony is very nice and observing the magnificent sea view.
Pay attention for the stairs between the floors (the bedroom at the upper floor, shower kitchen and balcony at the lower one) if you have mobility problems you will not be able to use them.
The location near the quiet Minori is great. Parking will cost you 8€ per day

“Many good memories”

As a novice traveler, I depended heavily on reviews as I searched for places to stay in Europe. I say this to reassure the reader and to give a frame of reference as to how seriously I regard the review process.
The apartment (La Clarissa), while modest, is perfect for a couple. The amenities were adequate for our needs. We liked the outdoor shower. My wife liked the view and the washing machine. The views ARE unparalleled.
We enjoyed a light lunch while awaiting Franco's arrival at the little coastal village of Minori, a short, 20-minute bus ride from Salerno (be sure to take your Dramamine!) He escorted us up a modest 60-75 steps or so and around the main highway another 5 minutes to the front door. Once inside, you are mostly sheltered from the traffic noise save a bus horn or two. The wifi was not working when we arrived, but that was quickly remedied. He also suggested and arranged a 4 hour (60 euro) round-trip boat trip for two to the Emerald Grotto (5 euro each) and then to Positano for a 1 hour shopping/lounging leave, with a 10 minute dip in the Mediterranean on the return trip to Minori. The town of Minori was replete with both average and fantastic restaurants, shoppes, and a very lovely stretch of beach--fantastic water temps and soft, pebbled beaches. The fee to utilize/keep a pair of custom lounge chairs and an umbrella all day is from 10-20 euro. One ceramic shop owner regaled us with tales of his meeting the Pope and invited us to hear him sing at the local church grounds that evening! The apartment and Minori was our favorite part of our Italian holiday! We would gladly recommend La Clarissa to all!

Liked best: The view
Liked least: Challenging/minimal as the main exterior door lock is sound, but the security as to the interior locks were faulty (kitchen window and back door)

“Great location, gorgeous view”
Reviewed July 21, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed 6 nights in July as part of a 2 week trip along the Amalfi coast - the views are stunning, the apartment is well furnished and the kitchen is particularly well equipped. Mr Franco was helpful in settling us in and arranging us a half day trip to Positano. We had a car - parking is a short walk down the road and cost a little extra, but we found the car invaluable during our stay and would highly recommend a car to really explore the coast (confident drivers only!).

The village of Minori is a 5 minute walk along the road, and then cut down a series of steps. The beach is like most along the coast line - small and crowded with umbrellas, but the village is lovely and has some really nice restaurants and cafes. Really well situated to explore the rest of the coast - we did boat trips to Positano and Capri which collected us from Minori jetty. Nearby Ravello (a 15 min drive) up in the hills is a must - lots to see, do and lovely places to eat. Highly recommend villa La Clarissa - nearly perfect for a couple staying on the coast.

Minor reasons for not giving 5 stars:
Some of our food went off overnight in the fridge - when it was on the coldest setting it barely felt cool.
The section of terrace with the outdoor shower for cooling off was a little overgrown so we didn't use it.
Proximity to the coast road - traffic noise can be heard during the night which may be a problem for lighter sleepers.

“The beauty of Amalfi in every view”
Reviewed July 9, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The first thing I'll say about this is the pictures are real. That's the view. That's the view you get out of every window in the cottage, which is a compact, spotless, and well-designed space for a couple looking to enjoy the beauty of Amalfi.

Located about a five-minute walk to the center of Minori (stick to the outside of the road when you're walking, and take the first big set of stairs you see) the location is great. You can do this vacation easily without a car, and unless you enjoy driving on crazy-busy roads, I'd recommend it.

The patio/deck is truly stunning. It has a gorgeous view of the Med, and the rocky Amalfi Coast. Anna did a great job setting up our stay and helping arrange things. A special shout-out to Franco "Maori" for all his help and advice while we were there. He arranged for two wonderful day-trips to Capri (by boat) and Pompeii (by bus) and even introduced us to Il Giardiniello, a charming restaurant in Minori.

One thing I DO have to mention in this part of the review: if you are bothered by the sound of traffic, this may not be the place for you. It's right on that busy road and at rush hour it can get a bit loud. The road is quiet at night, so there was never a problem sleeping, and we got used to it.

Minori itself is a treat, and we would avoid the busy road by going down there before the rush. It's not quite as touristy as many of the other towns in Amalfi. The people there are friendly and helpful and there's a holiday-town kind of feel to it. (It did see a spot of excitement too, as an episode of Gomorra was filmed there on our last two days.)

La Clarissa is great spot for a romantic getaway, or a place to recharge your batteries.

“This was a dream come true!!”
Reviewed May 20, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

La Clarissa is exactly as advertised....only better!! We feel so blessed that we got to live the dream and we stood in person on that lovely patio that you see in the pictures overlooking the sea, with the beautiful red flowers blooming, the lounge chairs, the outdoor shower and just the beauty and serenity of it all! The inside also is exactly as advertised. It is small but very tastefully decorated and efficient. All our needs were met. Our only disappointment was that we only stayed three nights. The small town of Minori was also a great joy. Every person we met was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed meeting and talking to the owners of Europa Restaurant, who were very charming and friendly. The spinach was excellent as were their home made sausages. The town is small enough to walk through without getting lost and there are lots of little shops, restaurants and markets. We would like to extend a special thank you to the young lady who assisted us at the travel agency. When we ran into her later that evening, she stopped to speak with us as if we were old friends. We were made to feel very much at home in the apartment and in the town. A big shout out to Mr. Franco who was also most helpful and understanding. He arranged a transfer for us back to Salerno and gave us a quick tour of the town. Thank you!! And thank you Anna! If you want your dreams to come true, rent La Clarissa!

“Beautiful cottage with stunning views”

La Clarissa is exactly as it looks on the website. Our whole stay from start to finish was perfect. Anna, the owner was easy to deal with and Mr Franco who showed us to the cottage was very helpful. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The two air conditioners ensured that we were cool in the evenings to sleep. Even though the villa is right on the road we did not find the traffic at night a problem although the walk into Minori along the road was interesting at times! We found Minori to be a good base to explore the Amalfi coast and preferred it to the larger more commercial Maori. The highlight would have to be the spectacular terrace overlooking the sea which we utilised each morning and evening. We didn't have a car and did not find it a problem. A tip if you can purchase some groceries before you arrive this saves carrying them up the road from Minori.
