“Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 23 September 2011

We stayed here on a Newmarket "Seven Cities of Italy" tour. This hotel put on a good meal for us, despite the fact we all arrived about 10.15 on a Sunday night. The food was fairly good; on the Gala Night it was excellent, with live music and dancing too. Our room was a bit cramped, but we weren't in it much so it didn't really matter. Everything was clean and tidy; plenty of clean towels in the nice clean bathroom. The hotel is not very near the harbour or town, but as we were being whisked off everywhere by coach that wasn't too important to us. Nice friendly staff, good service. Bar prices not excessive for a hotel. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Like the other reviewer -(Keithidman) we travelled with Travelstyle. Just a word about the journey from the U.K. - it was done over two days and each journey was 12 hours long. we fell into the Ibis hotel at Metz on the first night like Zombies, but we were treated with curtesy and efficiency so we could get to bed quickly. The Breakfast next day was excellent. The drivers Barry and Paul were excellect- professional and friendly in the correct mix.
The Hotel Bristol in Riva.was very good, our room had air conditioning and a balcony. it was a lovley big rooom and the bed was very comfortable.
The food was fine, no complaints at all. We only got to use the pool once but it was really nice, and plenty of sunbeds. The walk to and from the lake almost finished me off, but that is more to do with my age and general (un)fitness, younger members of our party had no problem at all.
All in all I would reccomend this Hotel/Travelstyle trip to all .

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a/conditioning and nice view/balcony.

We stayed at this hotel after booking a coach holiday with 'Travestyle'. The hotel is excellent value for money, the staff are very friendly, helpful and speak quite good english. The food, especially the pasta dishes were fabulous and plentiful. We stayed half board. I understand that not all rooms have a balcony and/or air conditioning, our room had both plus a fridge.
The lake and the town are about a 15min walk which is ok but walking back with bags when it's 40 degrees takes it out of you! A taxi cost 7 euros, well worth it!
The pool is great, spotlessly clean and not crowded. The hotel lies on quite a busy road but did not bother us. Across the road is a Lidle store which is great for cheap booze etc, eg; 1.5ltr carton of rose wine = 90 cents, and it tastes fine, the hotel dont mind you drinking it in your room but be respectfull and buy their wine and beer when at the pool side etc, it's not over priced, a large beer is 3.5 euros and a 4 glass jug of wine is 6 euros. Hopefully this helps you, and for those of you going with travelstyle then you'll be well looked after, we were and we can't wait for next years brochure to come out.

Stayed here for a week and it was perfect! Wonderful area, a casual 15 minute walk to the lake with stunning views of the mountains. The hotel had a pool which was clean and had plenty of seats around it, can't fault it at all.

The room was absolutely huge, as was the bathroom! Very spacious, with a veranda overlooking the apartments at the back and the mountains, it was lovely to sit out there in the evenings. Very clean room, the TV didn't work but I was on holiday, I wasn't there to watch TV so we didn't mind. The rooms were cleaned each day with fresh towels and the air con was nice and refreshing during the night. As we were at the back of the hotel it was very quiet at night too. There was WiFi available but you were limited to two hour sessions, would have preferred a constant connection but it was better than nothing.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, though they did seem a bit rushed from time to time and we had to wait around to order our drinks. The food was good quality too, though some of the starters would be considered to be a main meal back home! Breakfast was average, bread, cereal, ham and cheese, but they did bring you a nice pot of tea to wake you up.

Overall I would rate the hotel 8/10, it easily deserves the 3 star rating, the only faults are minor and didn't really affect us, would be happy to stay there again!

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel facing the apartments next door, can't complain!

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on Newmarket Travel -Seven Cities of Italy tour.
ROOM - quite comfortable. we had 2 single beds and found them to be comfortable. Adequate wardrobe space. Bathroom small and contained wash hand basin, toilet and shower. The latter was showing signs of age but was clean and toileteries were provided.Hair dryer worked okay. The room had air conditioning but was a bit noisy if left on overnight. Overall perfectly acceptable but would benefit from a bit of tlc to bring it up to a good standard. We asked for and were given a room with a balcony.
FOOD - a bit repetitive but definitely edible. mainly pasta, fish or cutlets. Breakfast was also adequate with fresh rolls, bread, jams and boiled eggs.
BAR - not cheap but good measures given for spirits (6 euros) lager 3.50 euros. comfortable surroundings and adequate provision externally for smokers like us.
STAFF - conveyed a good impression and we found them very friendly and trying their best to please.
LOCATION - quite handy for Lake Garda approximately 1 mile downhill. Lidl nearby hotel (turn left at hotel exit 150 yards on right) was the best value we saw in Italy. Wines very cheap but palatable as was beer. Good place to buy water as others have stated .16 cents. Prices cheaper than Lidl UK throughout store.
SWIMMING - pool, not used by us but appeared popular.
OVERALL- perhaps just under UK 3 star but perfectly adequate accommodation for a trip like the one we were on.

on the seven cities tour with newmarket holidays. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly, the food was ok but not very much of it they seem to be on a very tight budget, the pool was lovely and warm and an early morning swim is recommended. The short walk to Lake Garda is lovely and it was nice to sit here on a eveningOury room was at the back of the hotel so we were not disturbed by the noise from the road.Overall it was a clean comfortable hotel and there is a lidl just to the left of the hotel were most things can be bought.
