So, we booked this place based on the proximity to the sea front and casino.

When we arrived by car on the main road, we had our heads in our hands. The ground level opposite the old train station looks miserable; however, you have to walk up a flight of steps to get to the hotel's ground level.

[start again]

Upon entering the hotel, it's nice to see a classic, authentic Italian hotel. We get a proper key to the room and up we go to the top (4th) floor.

As we walk in the room, heads go back into hands because it's dark and smells musty; HOWEVER, we survived the walk across the room to the balcony doors and BAMMM!!

The view from this hotel out onto the San Remo harbour and beyond is truly spectacular. I think we were in room 426 or 436. Seriously, this just made everything beforehand worthwhile.

It's just a shame that we needed this to bring us back to thinking it was a "good" booking, rather than this making it an "exceptional" booking...

We had the room with a kitchen/living room with a fabulous balcony overlooking the mediterranean, bathroom and large bedroom. The great thing about this hotel was the space we had, the price and the location opposite the casino. The rooms were VERY clean - great chambermaids. The staff was fantastic - very helpful, couldn't do enough for us.

But beware of three things: (1) the breakfast is not very nice, don't order the scrambled eggs (2) the foyer smells of truffles which I think overpower everything, so fine if you like truffles but I don't :-) and (3) the decor etc is a little tired but you are definitely getting value in what you pay per night

I would definitely stay at the Europa again if I could have room 328

Room Tip: Room 328 - corner turn right third floor

Hotel Europa in Sanremo is the perfect place where to live either for business and holidays. All the hotels along Corso Imperatrice are good, but Hotel Europa has much more to give than its counterparts. It is in front of the casinรฒ and 5 minutes walk to main point of interest downtown in Sanremo: offices, best restaurants, beaches and pubs. It offers several types of rooms, from standard to suite and prices are perfectly in line with the services offered. It is a Liberty style hotel, typical in Sanremo. All the staff from the director of the booking office to the overnight keeper are really there to assure your best comfort. I will be back in one month!

Room Tip: The hotel offers every kind of room

Location is great. Right opposite the casino and at the end of the major boulevard for the shoppers paradise.parking is limited and is not free. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and courteous. The surprise here was the size of the room 228 at least 3 x your normal Italian shoebox. Great views of the bay and shutters to close at night for a good sleep from the noisy main road. The timber floors in the main bedroom creak a little as you move about. Good water pressure and nice size bathroom. Do not expect modern square features here it's a little dated but it's big clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental only with a decent spread. Don't worry there is a great cafe next door. Happy travels

Room Tip: Get the corner up high anything with a 28 I think

We stayed at this hotel for one night and it was great. The room we got was very big and comfortable. The staff were friendly and special thanks to the man working at the breakfast lounge, he was great. The only thing that was not so great was that the hotel is located close to the bars and casino so there was traffic and noises through the night. We slept trough that but I would recommend earplugs for a good night sleep. We were a family of five and we would definitely stay here again if we will ever visit the lovely city of Sanremo again
