We stayed at la Macchia for 2 nights including dinners and breakfasts.
We had a good size room, named rather than numbered, with exquisitely equipped shower room with lavender scented toiletries.
Very clean and tidy with good air conditioning system as our room windows were over the restaurant.
Superb service from a very helpful personnel in a domestic environment.
Overall a very tranquil setting away from Spoleto in Umbrian countryside.

Room Tip: If early night sleep is required avoid restaurant side rooms or close windows and put air con on.

We stayed here two nights and found it an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and tidy and big enough, the staff were very accommodating and helped us with everything we asked. The location was handy for walk into Spoleto to see the Cathedral and castle. We had two dinners and two breakfasts, the dinners were local cuisine and lots of it and enjoyable, the breakfasts were comprehensive and very filling for travelers. We didn't try the pizzas in the restaurant but they must have been good and popular, it seemed over half the meals coming out were pizzas.

We ate here a couple of times during our stay. The place is known locally as a pizzeria and from what we saw is extremely popular with the locals. All the food we had here was of excellent quality ~ the stand out being the wild boar ragu with tagliatelli and the pizza Norico made with local sausages and wild mushrooms. The restaurant is really interesting, some of the booths are made from railway carriage seating recovered from a local narrow gauge railway. Got to try it if you're in the area

We spent two nights here and enjoyed our stay. It is a family-run business with the kids around and everyone helping out. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was nice with a view and the donkey braying and roosters welcoming the morning did make this a unique country experience. The food in the restaurant was homely and plentiful, with the pocket-rocket waitress managing to make looking after 20 tables look easy while still laughing and smiling with everyone. She is a real gem!
The rooms are clean but there was some black mould in the shower grout, so if you are super picky maybe choose somewhere else. Breakfast was ok but very little fresh fruit and the bread and pastries didn't taste too fresh. The cereal was my pick for a healthy start to a day exploring a lovely area. Stay here if you like a lovely homely Italian family experience.

We stayed here during a cycling tour of Umbria. I'll admit that the approach after a long, hot day in the saddle was a little exhausting but well worth the effort. The hotel is in a lovely location just on the outskirts of Spoleto, surrounded by olive trees. The pool is very refreshing with a decent number of chairs & loungers to relax in.
Our room was ver comfortable with a good bed and some nice touches in the bathroom, although I have to say that the hair dryer was not that brilliant.
The food was delicious. We had a lovely waitress who was great fun and looked after us well. Dinner was served on a terrace but breakfast was in the 'station' with a big selection of pastries, fruit salad, cereals etc. You can also ask for boiled eggs too!
This is a true family run hotel where it appears that nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel so welcome. Would recommend.

This is possibly the most tranquil and friendly countryside hotel anywhere in Italy. It is situated in countryside on the outskirts of Spoleto and a car is preferential although the real stars are the owners who are only too willing to help out with difficult transport problems. The atmosphere they create with their honest hospitality makes you feel as though you are a member of the family. The food is excellent and enhanced by their home grown vegetables.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and have all the necessary amenities and the pool is lovely and peaceful. We could have stayed forever and hope to return. First class experience.
