My wife and I have stayed at this hotel three times The first time was on our honeymoon in 1999 and we stayed again in April 2015 and again in April 2018. This review is very overdue.

We simply love this place and we hope to return in April 2019. Our room was just beautiful, elegant with a wonderfully spacious terrace overlooking the restaurant and the little square and fountain at the back of the hotel. Great to sit, read a little and enjoy a glass of chilled wine. Breakfast was more than adequate. Staff very friendly and the family who run the hotel are very helpful, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is perfectly situated in the historic center of beautiful Todi with its great restaurants, wine bars, churches and stunning walks and views over the valley. We hired a local driver (Leonardo Tarquini) to collect us from Rome airport and to take us to Perugia and Spello on day trips. A very professional service and would highly recommend him. Todi is certainly the hill top medieval town where the ‘Lucky Ones’ live and my wife and I are looking forward to our return. And it will be without a doubt that we will come to Hotel Fonte Cesia. Must make that booking soon.

Every year I lead the Unbria Photo Workshops, centered in the glorious small Umbrian hill town of Todi. There we are headquartered in the Hotel Fonte Cesia and are treated like family, or at least long-lost friends. Beautiful rooms, friendly atmosphere and a spectacular hotel created on an ancient setting. The town of Todi is that rare mix of quiet, yet beautiful twinned with sophisticated and interesting.

Hello Mister Van Riper,
thank you for your review.
We do not treat you like a family, you are part of the family. We thank you to consider Umbria and Todi a special place where you can do your Photo Workshops. Please remember to send us some of your beautiful pictures :). A Presto Mister Frank e grazie di tutto.

Hotel Fonte Cesia has beautiful rooms with beautiful, old, solid wood furniture and cool decor overall. The rooms are very dark with the window shutters closed, which I love for sleeping. The staff was above and beyond helpful. Very sweet, accommodating, and helpful. Our fiends had an issue with our rental car, and the concierge spent hours on the phone with the rental company on their behalf, since our friends didn't speak Italian. Quite impressive. Great breakfast here as well. Two drawbacks of this hotel: There is no on-site laundry service - not even so much as an iron available in the hotel at all. There is one down the street through. Also - the showers are weird... Ours didn't have a shower curtain, so the bathroom got soaked every time we showered, despite our efforts at being careful. Aside from the showers, highly recommend.

Hello Shayla,
thank you for your review.
While you are away from home it is fundamental for us to solve problems that are created, just like in a real family, we are "italiani" :).
Sorry for the laundry, but on weekends it is closed, the same for the iron,it is not alowed, for safety reasons to have the iron used in the room.
Concerning the tube :), we are studying a nice way to close it with something less terrible than a plastic shower curtain, but honestly we still have not found it, we will solve it, promise. We hope you had a fantastic stay also in the Amalfi coast.
Ciao, and thank you again, we hope to see you again in Todi.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fonte Celia. Anna took the time to show us a few different rooms and gave us really good ideas for further sightseeing in the area. The rooms were very comfortable, the location is central, and they have a good place to park your car if you are driving. The breakfast was good too. One of our favorite hotel stays on our trip so far.

An excellent hotel in good location, relatively quiet small sq only two blocks from main town square. Staff very nice. Helpful, even the woman who led us to the parking lot who didn't speak much English :-). Parking is a few hundred yards away, but a 2 mile drive. We found this added to the hotel's charm. My wife found the bed a little uncomfortable, I did not, and the staff graciously tried several things to make it better for her. I highly recommend.
