Perfect location in the lower old city, only 100 meters from the coast. Classical large room, good bathroom, excellent breakfast. The personnel are extremely helpful and Umberto is a gracious host. Since we couldn't reach the hotel by car, we walked from a parking place. He drove me back to the car with his two-seated Smart, picked up our baggage and showed me a safe parking lot. That's service at the highest level! We wished we had booked a longer stay, so we would like to return for a longer visit.

Room Tip: Ask Umberto to recommend good restaurants.

During our 5 week holiday in Italy and France, we were fortunate to visit Tropea.
A highlight was staying in the wonderful B& B called Donnaciccina.
Umberto and his family together with his lovely staff made our stay most memorable.
An example of Umberto going that extra mile was upon our return journey from Sicily our travel plans were severely disrupted meaning that we didn't arrive at Tropea train station until 9pm at night. Donnaciccina brochure stated that the latest time for arrival was 8pm.
We arrived at the door at 9.30pm not expecting to be able to get in when we heard a shout from upstairs " I wait for you to arrive". Umberto let us in and we were full of joy.
We had travelled 12 hours from Sicily and hearing Umberto's voice was special.
We showered and went out to a bar for a well earned drink. We slept like babies that night.

Thank you Umberto, Roberta and Anna for an amazing stay at your fantastic, beautifull B&B. We loved it so much, so we stayed an extra 3 days. Perfect situated, beautilful and cozy rooms, best breakfast we had in Italy at all times, and we have been to Italy many, many times.

We will highly recommend everyone to stay with Umberto at the Donnaciccina!
See you next year!
Warm Regards Sara & Johan

Donnaciccina is a wonderful place to stay in Tropea. It is centrally located with everything you could wish for on the doorstep. Roberta, Umberto and staff are very helpful and friendly, doing their best to make your stay enjoyable. Our room, Marilyn, was spacious with a good sized bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent, probably the best we have had in Italy, compliments to the cake baker, they were wonderful. We'll stay there again for sure.

We've just spent a week in this sumptuous B&B that really is more akin to a small boutique hotel. Its spacious and quiet and has a small dining room where you eat breakfast in the morning. Roberto on reception and the chap with the deep Italian baratone voice are exceptionally friendly, cheerful and couldn't do enough to help. Any local knowledge or restaurant recommendation they will point you in the right direction. Our room 'Flora' was lovely, very simple and authentic and had lovely air con, it has a small terrace which we had a lovely glass of wine on each evening.
Our favourite restaurant for ambience and quality of food was La Lamia, a short walk from Donnaciccina. The mussels and swordfish are great and the locale red wine is a must. The locale red/wine is only two euros in the local shops, its very quaffable.

Room Tip: If you want a terrace room ask for Flora
