With a view to lake Magiori, a welcoming price and a very beautiful and confortable room I consider it to be a great choice. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was nice, but I think it was the worst of a wondeful experience.

Hotel Belvedere and Hotel Gottardo are located side by side on the waterfront in Verbania, sharing some of the installations. The reception is in the Belvedere and serves both hotels. The staff is helpful and helpful.
Measured on the external facade; and also on the 4-star rating, my expectations were not fully met in respect of the facilities and the service level. The double room #427 with view of the Lake is relatively large and nicely decorated, held in warm colors, equipped with a large double bed, and a work desk with two simple desk chairs. A comfortable armchair or small sitting area where guests could comfortably rest and enjoy the beautiful views, is missing.
It was rather disturbing that woolen blankets are still used. The concept of a modern 4-star is to offer guests a freshly covered quilt and not an unhygienic overused blanket. The W-LAN connection is unreliable and a kettle for making tea and coffee or a bottle of mineral water was missing.
The bath room is large, but somehow coming into age. Instead of terry towels, plain cotton sheets are often found in Italy; and so in the Belvedere. Worth to mention that the room and the bathroom were very clean.
The breakfast is richly garnished with a large selection of cakes. Next to the hotel is a restaurant/pizzeria with a large terrace where tasty traditional food is served at affordable prices.
During the day it is hard to find free public parking. The charm of the hotel is unmistaken the view on the Lago Maggiore and the Borromean islands, therefore a room with lake view is worth the top-up.. The old town with its small alleys and winding streets lies just behind the hotel.

The position is perfect, it's directly in front of the lake and near plenty of nice restaurants. Our room was very spacious and quiet, it was very simply decorated but functional. We didn't have breakfast included in our room rate and went to a cafe instead. The staff were multilingual and well organized. A good solution for a short stay.

The hotel was located by the lake in a great location. The breakfast was good (including possibilities for vegans and sensitiveness, after we asked the staff if they have such posibilities). We were satisfied, although the television and the lights in the bathroom didn't work well in one of the two rooms that we ordered. The hotel was very luxury and the staff was nice.

Location is right on the water front of Lake Maggiore. The ferry dock is right across the street too.
The hotel is a little older in its decor and rooms look very dated. But the staff is wonderful and very courteous. Its a reasonably priced hotel along the lakefront, the location was perfect. Our room on the first floor had a street view and partial lake view. But views are definitely much better on the higher floors as those are above the tree canopies.Staying along the lake can get expensive.
The room was very spacious with high ceilings and was well appointed with TV and a refrigerator. For the beverages, hot tea kettle had been provided with cups. The linen was crisp white, clean and the bed was very comfortable too, not plush but firm. The balcony overlooked the promenade by the lake. There was enough soundproofing for the room considering that we were right on the Main Street, we didn't hear any noises once the doors and windows were shut. The a/c unit wasn't powerful. I noticed that in the room the temperature could be reduced only by two degrees using the thermostat. But learnt later that the front desk was able to regulate it upon request.
The bathroom was spacious and clean with a shower, w/c and bidet. The towels were not very plush but were clean.
The breakfast was sumptuous with fruits, juices, yogurts, cereal, milk, cheeses, cold cuts, croissants, at least two tortas (cakes), espresso drinks, tea.
Just one point to note is that there wasn't a bell desk like the one in larger hotels. But surely they could assist if anyone was in need of luggage assistance.
We stayed here in the third week of August. There was a street fair that started right from the hotel and went about half a kilometer ahead. Something to note if one likes peace and quiet during the stay. Check with the concierge if there are any such activities planned along the street very close to the hotel location as it can get noisy during daytime.
The town of Verbania is a great option to stay along the lake. It's not as overly touristy and huge like Stresa and not too small either. There are good restaurants too.
Little Italy was a nice family run trattoria that we liked. Do try the artisanal gelato at Fior Di Gelato on Via Ruga, 15, 28922.
We took the trip to Locarno from here which was a good day trip.

Room tip: Upper floors have better views of the lake
