Description: “Olive a Cena” is created through the collaboration of Daniel Oliva (Olive) and Carlos Arocena (cena = dinner), who became friends when they organised social nighlife events together in Versilia. Here they will concentrate their energy into a restaurant and wine bar which is created from the continuous search for food, drinks and products that combine traditional cuisine with new contemporary methods and techniques. You will be offered food and wine in perfect union in a dynamic, youthful and modern taste, but smothered with traditional hospitality. The restaurant is located in the city center just a few steps away from the entrance of the pine-wood and near an architectural icon of Art Nouveau, Villa Argentina. On days when the southwest wind blows a strong smell of salt can be felt in the air given the close proximity to the sea and consequently the Margherita boulevard. To be in the proximity of the Market Town area, it makes a great place for a refreshment or for a quick lunch, but at the same time being treated with excellent quality before and after shopping.

We reserved, we came, we enjoyed. We sat outside in an oleander lined street. A quick read through the menu and we discovered a tasting Menu. 7 Courses. it was a very good choice, a selection of the signature dishes. some interesting variations on some Tuscany classics mixed with some novel ideas. A nice bottle of white wine, and the evening was perfect.
Don't forget to make a reservation.

We ate twice in Oliva e cena during our stay in Viareggio. The tuna tartare as a starter is the best we ever ate!
Friendly and attentive staff (they even bring you anti-mosquito spray if needed while dining outside). Great advice regarding best wines to drink with all courses.
We absolutely recommend this restaurant if you visit Viareggio!

We came to this restaurant based on the tripadvisor recommendation and we were very satisfied with the meal and service. You can recognize the Italian tastes in a new interpretation that perfectly brings out the wonderful tastes from the food. We were offered a wonderful wine, the evening was excellent. Prices are correct, we ate on the promenade some days ago a much worst dinner where the fish had only the taste of the burned oil on the same or even a higher price level!
This place is highly recommended!

Lovely restaurant, with nice outdoor seating, inventive menu and excellent service. Nicest meal we had in viareggio, definitely worth a visit.
Enjoy the polpo and trofie!

I live in Australia, and after doing some travelling around Italy in July this year, following my conference presentation over there, I ended in Tuscany & later Viareggio. I had heard good feedback about the 'Olive a Cena' restaurant, so had hoped we would had made it there, and boy am I glad we did!. The service was ‘superb’, we were a group of three people, and despite not having pre-booked, the friendly owner, Carlos, greeted us shortly after arrival. Despite the restaurant being busy, he asked us to take a sit while he organized a table for us. He suggested a great local red which we thoroughly enjoyed. After doing a big of ‘magic’ he accommodated us. We felt immediately welcomed and taken care of, and honestly after travelling around for a few weeks, that is just what was needed. After asking us a few question, and listening attentively to our taste buds, he recommended a few dishes. I had the ‘poulpe croquant’ as entrée and the ‘Ombrina’ as main with some vegetables on the side to share. Both dishes were ‘pieces of art’, they were beautifully and elegantly presented...and the taste matched the presentation. The taste was truly exquisite, the creative way these dishes were presented and the way the ingredients were mixed to please our diverse palates was out of this world!. Carlos kindly suggested some perfect complementary wine, which added to the overall experience. I can sincerely say that this has been one of my top restaurant experiences throughout my travels around the world. I will certainly be back and have already highly recommended my family friends and colleagues to visit this little piece of culinary ‘paradise’ when they head off to Tuscany.
