This was by far the best restaurant we visited whilst in Italy.
The little fritter things make a beautiful starter. Just order all four to try!
We went twice for lunch an it was quiet. Sat on the terrace. The lady greets you with a beaming smile! The language barrier doesn't matter has she is so lovely. The menu is completely in Italian. But we just ordered different pasta dishes which were so fresh and tasty.
Please note that this is on its own in Seiano and not in the centre Vico Equance.
If you are staying in one of the two hotels in Seiano this restaurant is a must.
The family who run this are so friendly.
Thank you for two amazing lunches!

Thank Griffinstar

We went slightly out of our way to reach La Tradizione after our guidebook said it was worth a trip, and it was definitely worth it! We were staying in Vico Equense, and this restaurant is in Seiano, so just one stop further on the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. From Seiano station it's about a 10 minute walk slightly uphill (or a 30-45 minute walk from Vico Equense). If you're in a car it will be really easy to reach!
We settled in on the terrace for a delicious lunch of various meats & cheeses, and a Caprese salad along with a terrific bottle of sparkling white wine. Whatever you get, you must try the buffalo mozzarella! They also sell cooked bites (arancini and other fried nibbles) or a full restaurant menu. We decided to take some things back with us to enjoy at our BnB later on!
The restaurant also regularly do BBQ's on the terrace, which unfortunately we didn't have time to come back for but I'm sure it would be a meal to remember!

Stopped by for lunch. A great recommendation from food-writer and journalist Faith Willinger. The food was fantastic and so was the local red wine: Gragnano. Perfect for lunch: light with a very slight fizz. The other marvelous item: Spiedino rustico —same principal as a kebob with bacon-wrapped cheese and bread, grilled to perfection, with a little olive oil thrown in.

Don't miss doing a little shopping for some items you can tuck away in your suitcase. You'll see what I mean!

We happened on this family run deli/restaurant while staying in a local hotel with very poor food - it was our life saver! Father is the butcher, son cooks on the barbeque, #1 daughter is the chef, #2 daughter waits on table and Mama oversees it all! There is a fantastic cheese selection, lovely cooked meats and prepared items such as baby smoked mozzarello wrapped in bacon on skewers and do not leave with out trying their potato crisp chips with parmesan topping! You can have your meat freshly butchered to be cooked on the spot and enjoy a cheese board and gorgeous breads while you wait. There is an excellent wine selection and lots of lovely jars of goodies to buy in the deli shop. The family are lovely and very helpful despite the language barrier! Forget the diet you are on holidays!!!
