This is a long steep hike for too little reward, but the views are good!

The city has a lot to offer in terms of sights--not so much here. It is basically a walk through... read more

... be an expert in Etruscan necropolis structures. There isn’t much to contextualize the site and there isn’t anyone around other than the ticket taker to answer questions. The best part of the complex is the Roman cictern. It is wholly untouched and completely in tact. I would definitely recommend this site if you have a strong interest in antiquities. It is not reccommended for the casual tourist or people with small children. It is not kid-friendly in that there isn’t much to distract.

Having walked up (not actually that far but uneven so you need decent shoes) we went in as we’d got the multi-pass. The ruins are overrun with weeds and so nigh on impossible to picture what it would have been like. There are two boards with a sort of quasi badly translated english explanation.

Everything says they close at 17:30 but they were already closed at 17:15 after we walked all the way up there. We were able to look through the fence at the sites. The view from the top looks like it could have been amazing if we could have been let in to see it.

There was no charge for the archeological park the first week of December. There is a nicely maintained walk around the short loop trail . The ruins were a disappointment. Not much to see.

this has an entrance fee of 5euro. Compared to Pompeii, does not look like its worth paying an entrance fee and going in. But the park that it is in is very beautiful. Worth walking up to it. There is a water fountain too right opposite to the site.
