We had the best time. Julatten is on the tablelands above Port Douglas and quite frankly an overlooked tourist treasure. It is an easy add on to your Port Douglas holiday and offers a quaint get away. A mini break within the break. Sweetwater offers two styles of completely private accommodations hand crafted 2x beautifully positioned villas and 1x Gypsy Caravan. We choose to stay in Gypsy Caravan Glamping at its best no expensive spared complete with outdoor warm shower and an open fire. All of which is up to you. You are left alone to enjoy the serenity of the land, creek, complete with platypus or two or the raindrops walk. Bring your own wine food snacks guitar whatever do nothing or hike. Just stop it is brilliant. We were recharged. The hosts and owners have built with love and passion the accommodations. Wendy and Glenn are genuine friendly earthy kind welcoming folk. I believe Glenn has a new destiny building hand crafted Gypsy Caravans

Excellent accommodation in our lodge, Wendy had thought of everything and our breakfast and dinners hampers were perfect. Our friends loved the gypsy caravan and the wood bbq was fun. Very attractive property.

A great location, modern well laid out accomodation and very friendly owners made for a very enjoyable few days. My interest is bird photography and this property is a perfect place for this activity. It is also close to several other interesting locations. I'll be back.

We stayed in the cute gypsy wagon for my birthday in August.

The wagon itself was handcrafted by Wendy's husband, so the fittings are high quality. It has been beautifully restored, the bedding, fittings, all utensils etc are of good quality - and everything well thought out.

LOVE the outside area, you can chill out in a nook of cushions, or swing in the hammock OR hang out on the woven hanging swing. Great cooking facilities, cute outdoor shower with hot water and great water pressure! There is even a purpose built place to sit a short walk away - with bar/stools and sun loungers.

This is great for getting away from it all, being in nature, going for walks in the rainforest and a dip in the nearby river. Highly recommend and as a Cairns local, we will be back.
