OK, so you're not going to expect the highest finish when staying at a motorway service station...but...Days Inn was surprisingly good.
Heading back after dropping our daughter off at university in Liverpool, it was reasonably priced (about £50 for the night) and clearly has taken a leaf out of Premier Inn's book in terms of keeping stuff simple and comfortable.
Plus, you get the 'perk' of strolling through a connecting door from the lobby into the service station main area where there's a host of food outlets (well, we liked it!).
Parking is free (they sort it when you check in) and you can buy £10 food vouchers (for use in most of the restaurants - McDonalds, Leon, Costa etc) for £7.50 - which actually makes them a half decent deal.
Rooms were good - granted, it was no hypno-bed, but comfy enough - and the bathroom was spacious and had hand gel plus shower gel etc. Only gripe was the bathroom could have probably done with a slightly better clean in the corners, but I'm making a bit of a fuss about that - it didn't detract one bit from the stay.
Overall, what sounded like the least romantic venue on earth was actually a solid stop-off venue and we'll no doubt return to split the journey up again in future.
PS. Nowhere in the service station, understandably, sells alcohol, and given you're on a toll road, it's worth bagging a bottle of wine in advance!

The first things apparent to me are the happy and helpful team booking a week stay was easy on arrival the room was clean tidy and pricing was key ...

The beds are comfortable 4* from 5 the shower was hot and powerful shaking the cobwebs from the deepest of sleeps ..

I became a fan of the LEON restaurant on site .. some real treats being served..

But most of all I would like to bring the attention to head office about Emma Tura ... please increase her wages by 50% as she is a real credit to the smooth running.. of your hotel

Thank you for making my working week a pleasure..

I will be booking again and will recommend to a friend x

Warm regards leon ... CRUK

We stayed here about a week ago in a "dog friendly" room. The room looked great, but the next day husband and I realised we has three flea bites apiece. Of course the dogs, having had 'flea-repellent" tablets from the vet, were fine. A bit disappointing, it was otherwise a nice room, but we won't be risking it again. It is also a really crummy services--bad food, very crowded.

Room Tip: Stay away from the 'dog [flea] friendly' rooms.

This facility never disappoints. Clean, quiet, friendly. Good comfortable beds giving a really good sleep. Considerate guests. All service stop facilities provide good choice and quality. I will always try to plan a stop here.

I have stayed here over the last year on a monthly basis when on business in the local area. It’s ok for the the price, which is why I have continued to visit. However, during my last visit, I encountered a rather rude member of staff (who lets all the other helpful/friendly staff down). She was rude to me and another person in front of my when checking out. She was obviously having a bad day, she appeared to have been using her mobile phone before I approached her. Working in a customer facing position myself, i believe that people should be treated how I would like to be and this individual needs more training. I’d say she was in her mid 50’s. Her pony tail was partly covering her badge but the name looked as if it said Jude or Julie. I’ve phoned to complain but I haven’t heard anything since so unfortunately I’m leaving this review.
