Myself and a group of mates decided to head to Leitrim for an adventurous weekend away from Dublin, we decided on Drumshanbo because of its close location to Carrick on Shannon. We found it the perfect location as we were not in the middle of Carrick and could have a break.
Drumshanbo was the perfect place, in the day there was so much to do, adventure park not too far along with the Drumshanbo Gin Distillery, we found Drumshanbo a lovely little town, Henry’s was the perfect location for some Irish Grub and A pint, Conway’s was the perfect traditional Irish bar, sand on the floor and Irish ballad music playing that evening, followed up with a sing song. Carrick was 10 minutes in a taxi.
As for Darseajoes, we could not find a better place to stay. The rooms were all immaculate, modern, comfortable and the host Edel was exceptional. She greeted us with refreshments upon arrival, had all of the local amenities information on hand and went that extra mile that is non existent with other hosts/b&bs. The accommodation is a stone throw away from bars and restaurants, 10 minutes from Carrick on Shannon and like no others, it has a huge home vibe to it.
I would, without doubt highly recommend Darseajoes, and very much look forward to spending time there again in the near future.
