Have lost count how many times we have visited Benodet over the last 30 years. We have stayed at several sites and this is by far the best. Friendly and helpful owners and staff keep the site well maintained and clean. The pitches are a generous size, particularly for a coastal site, and are kept tidy with low hedge boundaries. Facilities on site are good with the pool complex the centre point of activities.
Only a very short walk from the Beach / promenade and best ice cream shop for miles.
Highly recommended and will return again next year.

We stayed in a mobile home for a week and were not disappointed, a high standard for a simple home and well equipped. We had a friendly welcome and were shown to the van. The site is fairly simple with just the pools and the park to entertain the children, but this was more than adequate for our 8 year old who loved the slides in the pool which kept her busy most days and a lovely covered pool for the cooler days.
We only went to the bar once and found it a little pricey, we attempted the snack bar once ordered some food the lady muttered something and walked away and didn't come back just busied herself in the kitchen, so we walked away and went to the shop/snack bar at the opposite campsite who were friendly and helpful.
A small on site shop which has very limited stock but we did use a few times for daily bread etc which was lovely and fresh.
Benodet is beautiful a short walk to beeches and the local restaurants from the site and a supermarket with petrol station not far. We would recommend this site for people who are looking for a chilled out break lovely and quiet at the time we visited. We would return to the area.

The service at the campsite was good and Stephan and Phillip happy to help at any time.
Two ablution blocks. One run down and old, unisex toilets but bigger shower cubicles. The newer block had female and male separated showering and toilet areas. However the shower cubicles were tiny with nowhere really to pop your things without them getting wet. I found I needed to shower then pop over to a sink cubicle to dry and dress. There was one “family” cubicle which was spacious enough as it had the sink and shower encompassed in one cubicle. The layout of this newer area on the women’s side made no sense to me. 12 sink cubicles, 6 toilet cubicles, 2 shower cubicles and 1 sink + shower cubicles.
From my observations the ablution blocks were cleaned once a day. Not enough considering the human traffic. The smell was terrible!

There is WiFi but only at the bar. The little shop stocks the basics and the bread is delicious- especially the traditional loaf.

Karaoke was held 1-2 times a week and it went on until about 1am. Surrounding campsites were incredibly noisy, unfortunately sound travels. Ear plugs were a blessing! Thank goodness the campsite is slow to get going in the morning, it was about 9am before people were wandering around.

The pools were well maintained, our children loved the slides and the inside pool a god send considering that the sun did a disappearing act whilst we were there.

Benodet is very sleepy, if you are after somewhere with a lovely French square then this is not the place for you. The beach is beautiful and the town kept clean. Buses to Quimper and alike are about €3 rtn. Benodet itself is very expensive, in Quimper the menu du jour in the main square by the Cathedral was about €13 in Benodet about €20.

We met people who have been staying at Du Poulquer for +5 years running, clearly Du Poulquer have been doing something right to get their returning custom.

We really like this site, Run by Stephan, who is very welcoming. It has everything you need, clean toilet blocks, swimming pool etc, and is the site that gives you a short walk into Benodet.
It has that personal feel that is so refreshing after those huge chain sites run by “the team”
It has more pitches than you think, so I am certain that you will always find a pitch here outside the school holidays.

Very welcoming on arrival and promptly shown to caravan pitch by a guy on a cycle. Pitch was slanted so you need to have your caravan facing downwards for ease of alignment with your jockey wheel. Site was quiet and was very organised for our six nights. The free WiFi worked nicely in the bar. Beers were expensive at £5.80 euros for a pint. We soon learnt to use the unisex toilets near the reception to get the rare french toilet seat - not evident in the block near the pool. Showers were split in this block into pink for ladies and blue for men. Swimming pool slides kept our 12 and 17 year olds very business going up and down. Beach front is a 10 min walk away - recommend taking a walk along the front and catch the evening concerts/bands. Great experience and we would use the site again.

Room tip: Ask for a pitch away from the pool/the tent area for peace and quiet
