A very welcoming hotel with exceptionally professional staff. Around 10-minute walk to the centre of town so in a quiet location. Breakfast was good but there is no restaurant. Rooms are generally up to the standard of a Mercure.

we stayed 2 nights in this hotel, we had room 224 a Duplex room with a gallery and a balcony overlooking the Hippodrome. 2 TV set clean room and bathroom.
we had stayed in another Merkur Hotel in Omaha Beach and it is more modern newly renovated rooms and cheaper than here.this hotel is more expensive .breakfast is ok but Merkur Omaha is far much better.
Sauna and steam is switch off at noon time and will be on again at 3 pm.
If you want to see the Horserace this is the place to be.

Stayed here on a bus tour. Location is a few minutes walk from city center but the walk is pleasant. Room was neat and clean. There isn't much around the hotel but you can place a pizza order at the desk and they will order one sent to your room. The restaurant next door isn't always open but the menu looked appetizing.

Stayed for 1 night en route to Brittany. Service on arrival was prompt and efficient. Receptionist reserved a table in the restaurant on site explaining that it was not part of the hotel and a totally separate business however we could get there without getting wet via a walkway. Room was a good size and comprised of a double bed and also a single bed. Both were very comfortable. The lighting was rather poor once curtains were closed. Bathroom had a good shower over the bath which was deep and there was also a hand shower attached. Shower and hand wash dispensers provided along with tissues. Towels were coming to the end of their useful life. Breakfast served in a large attractive room was good with a choice of. scrambled eggs or boiled eggs with bacon as well as the usual continental cold meats and cheese. Would recommend. Please note this hotel is next to the racecourse.

Our tour group stayed here, to during a race meet. This a very comfortable place, with good service - the desk clerk was a big help when we tried to use the business center (a computer) to arrange and print tickets for our upcoming Parisian stay. The restaurant was not a good experience - the food was mediocre, and the staff poorly trained.
