My wife and I were looking for a good value lunch in a typically French setting on a warm afternoon.....and we got one.

The restaurant was very busy. The service was very slick. We had the 3 course plat du jour for 16.50e all of which was excellent and washed down with a carafe of free table water and a half litre of rose was 6.50e .

Really, you can't complain at that.

The setting is a boon, surrounded by flowers with plenty of people watching thrown in.

We had some icecream there.
Nothing to complain, prices are ok and the icecream good.

Only down, the service was a bit long...

If all you want is a quick bite that is not too expensive, then this is the place for you. Beware though, the portions are huge and a pizza will easily serve 2 normal appetites. Pleasant location too.

This is our lunch stop when travelling south from St Malo to our house in the Gers. We're regular customers and somewhat surprised at the critical comments some people have made, although service can be somewhat slow in summer as it gets so busy and, yes, an extra loo is needed. That said, we've never had a bad experience. Last week’s lunch consisted of a starter (crumb coated goat’s cheese with a salad garnish) and a very generous main (a hot and spicy couscous dish consisting of sausage, chicken and lamb). And all for €13.95. Sited on the tree lined Place Colbert, this glass-sided brasserie is modelled on the cafe featured in the movie musical Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, which was filmed on the square. In summer, we recommend eating outside under the large canopy umbrellas where you can watch the comings and goings across the square. The brasserie is just a 5 minute walk from the central parking area, which has room for 1000 vehicles (It’s free).

We ate here on the day of a female cancer run / walk and it was very busy.
It was a competent and slightly above average meal.
