Paper thin walls, caravan like fittings, on an industrial estate

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 14, 2019
Used the hotel as it was a cheap stop off on a long journey from Costa Blanca to Calais, break the journey and get some rest.

However the experience was far from relaxing, the hotel was incredibly noisy with very paper thin walls making sleep neigh on impossible. It is located in an industrial estate with nothing in walking distance and this was a Saturday night stop over.

The fixtures and fittings were like an old static caravan, the room is the size of a closet and the beds are very narrow. The toilet was a plastic cubicle that you could about sit on the toilet and shower at the same time.

I was not expecting much for the price, but this fell short of even that, the formula one would be a better choice.

Would I recommend this hotel, well I would say its almost better to stay and sleep in the car. Unless you like the feel of an old cheap caravan I would avoid it

Hello
We just want to add some indications
We are not in an industrial estate but we are close to a supermarket with many restaurants like Campanile, la boucherie, cafeteria plateau d'Auguste, Poivre ROUGE... It is very quiet area at the entrance of the city and the motorway.
We are an economic hotel with private bathroom (shower toilette and sink) WE ARE VERY DIFFERENT from FORMULE 1 !!!!! Our room had been renovated in 2017
NEXT TIME CHOOSE a real caravan so you can fell better....
best regards
NELLY J

The sheets of the bed were dirty, with body hairs and hairs, it is totally unacceptable and disgusting.
And so, we could not sleep well.
It has never ever happened to me before, to find a dirty bed, prepared in the shape of a clean one.
The fees are not matching the service.

The reception was not open anymore when we arrived, but there is a self check-in computer at the front of the hotel. Good idea, but it was unbelievably slow. The Lady from the hotel helped us using it, so we waited together for 3 minutes to switch from one step to the next one. Only for me it took 10 minutes to check-in. And this happened to the family who arrived just before us as well. The room was clean, if these bugs don't count as dirt (We found three in the room). The breakfast was Ok, and the staff was friendly. But the room is much smaller then expected. If you pull one of the beds away from the other, to use the room as a twin bed room, you can not open or close the door properly anymore. And the bathroom is really small! It is similar to a train toilett, or to a ToiToi (used on Festivals) implemented with a shower. I only recommend this accomodation for one night, and only if you are not bigger than me (185cm 90kg).

We stayed one night on our way north and the hotel is ideally located for this, straight of the motorway exit and you are almost there.

We had breakfast in the morning which was great. A help yourself buffet of croissants, bread, jams, ham, cheese, tea, coffee and fruit juice.

The best bit about this hotel is that you can take your dog for just a small extra charge with no fuss or hassle. The worst bit was the shower, it is very small so you get wrapped up in the shower curtain whilst showering.

Helpful staff, well situated for travelling, good value. Better than other budget hotels i have stayed in. Good to be able to get an evening snack. Good breakfast buffet. Surprisingly peaceful being to close to an autoroute.

Easy access from the highway, quick entry and exit of hotel. Good price/quality for a nights sleep. Mc Donalds close by, drive though open until 00.30. Hotel parking is limited but plenty of parking across the street @Brico
