Nice location but staff is rude and crude. Unhelpful and misleading. Poor breakfast choice and unwelcoming reception area that appears neglected and haven't been given an airing for years. Hygiene suspect.

We stayed at the Mas des Barres 4 nights and really enjoyed it. It is about 7 km (apx. 4miles) outside of town. The owners are very nice and helpful with anything you need. it is a quiet place with a nice pool, and horses that you can book for a ride with Elise (which we did for 2 hours and it was great!) They offer breakfast, but at $12 it is a little high. Our room was nice and clean. It also has a safe which is convenient. Would stay there again.

Been here in family for a short holiday. The rooms are all ground floor facing the internal court, very quiet in the night. Despite our was a "family room" the room was not spacious.
Beds were comfortable, bathroom very large. The hotel has no restaurant facilities, only a rich and tasty breakfast was served and a small bar was operating during the day.
In the hotel there a lot of horses and on daily basis personalized and group horseback riding are organized (prices vary in function of the duration of the ride, from 2 hours till the whole day). Hotel staff was kind and welcoming.

Room tip: Family rooms are small

The Mas is situated well out of the hustle and bustle of St Maries de la Mer. From the moment you arrive you will know you have made a good choice. The bedrooms are built around the pool and a shady garden. Recently redecorate the rooms are lovely and each one has it's own little terrace. The owner is very friendly and helpful-follow her suggestions for restaurants and you won't be disappointed. Breakfasts are huge and will set you up for your day's excursion whether it be on horseback, by cycle or on foot. Élise runs the riding centre next door. Book in advance and be honest about your riding experience and you will have such a good time.

Our party of 6 stayed in this lovely small hotel. The ground floor rooms all overlook the clean, well maintained swimming pool and the lovely Camargue horses grazing in their paddock. Rooms are simple but well equipped, clean and well managed. Each room has an small outdoor sitting area with good furniture. Breakfast was simple but good, fresh fruit salad, meats, cheeses, yoghurt, rolls, juices etc - ample for us. Would most definitely recommend and the hosts were lovely too. Great if you want to ride too.
