Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 virus our hotel in Italy cancelled on us with no costs, I then booked rooms in Chamois D'Or. This was a hotel I had stayed at a few years earlier, it's in a great spot, easy to walk to the ski lifts, the centre of town and a smart, clean well run hotel with comfy beds. When I enquired about availability they said the resort was fully open, the snow was good and importantly they confirmed that should the resort close a refund for the full amount paid would be processed. Unfortunately for us and the tourists / staff at the hotel the resort was shut down. However Ilze at the hotel stayed in contact with us and offered to rebook our stay for the following season, using the money paid against the next stay. Plus a discount off next years rates or we could have a full refund. My initial thoughts were to rebook as I know the hotel, its perfectly located and a lovely place to stay in Les Gets. Unfortunately due to kids exams next year our dates were limited so we opted for a full refund. This was processed promptly and Ilze kept in regular contact.
Other friends have not been so fortunate with hotels, who were unwilling to refund the money paid.
Not only is the hotel nicely decorated and furnished, close to the ski lifts, has a spa , good breakfast , bar and restaurant. It also has excellent staff and an honourable aproach to looking after their guests.
I wish them all well and look forward to returning to the hotel for another trip.

Our second year staying with Peter and the team in Les Gets. The whole experience makes you feel special. Peter and his staff look after your every need from the second you arrive. Rooms are clean and cosy and the little touches like the “turn down” service in the evening go that extra mile.
The hotel is big enough to provide a lovely chilled social gathering in the evening that has the chalet feel about it. It’s small enough to avoid the “in your face” apres ski.
The spa is perfectly set up to allow you to relax after a hard day skiing. The lighting is amazing with stars like lights and dimly lit. The temperature is spot on too, we even managed to doze off on a lounger!!!!
The hotel is a short walk from the lifts and ski hire and has every other shop or restaurant you might need.
It’s worth trying Baaji next door for one of Charles’ curries. The food is incredible!
Will definitely be back to stay with the Chamois d’or again!

Room tip: We had room 24 over looking the front of the hotel and up the mountain.

A few things had changed since we last visited 2 years ago and our stay was better for them. The addition of the fantastic Baaji Indian restaurant, an excellent breakfast menu and a cosy re-modelled reception / bar area. The level of service was excellent, the basement spa a welcome place to relax at the end of the day and our bedrooms quiet and comfortable. We stayed in room 15 on the first floor above the bar which was surprisingly quiet and our kids stayed in one of the new rooms which have been nicely kitted out with some mod cons like USB ready plugs. It looks like a few more new rooms are being created for next season too. A great stay - thank you.

Girlie weekend ski trip - a perfect stay in a lovely hotel. We received a very warm welcome from the friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Les Gets is a very pretty town with nice restaurants and bars (Babylon being our favourite) Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Pete, Bryn and Ernesto for making our stay very enjoyable

Had a great weekend away with a group of girls. Hotel 10min walk to the lifts. Les Gets great location as not too big so feels very friendly. Spa is much appreciated at the end of a busy day skiing. Rooms very clean and staff really friendly and helpful. I agree a few more hooks to hang ski kit on would be helpful. Highly recommend for a weekend away. Breakfast very good and the new I dian restaurant was excellent. Ernesto and his team very kind and fun.
