We stayed at Les Balcons over easter. The accommodation overall was good and we enjoyed our stay. The only comments I would make is that the size of the living space in the apartment is okay for 4 adults and 2 children but would be cramped for 6 adults. The apartment is not ski in and ski out but is within 100 metres or so of a ski slope to the centre and an excellent free shuttle bus stop is opposite the accommodation. This runs every 20 minutes and this really helps offset the fact that the apartment is on the upper edge of Val Thorens. The plus side of the location is that it is quiet and relaxed and there is a supermarket, ski shop, pub and restaurants close by.
The one big criticism is the quality of the internet connection that was pretty useless during our stay. That is the reason the review is a 3 and not a 3 star. The wireless has too many users and it did not provide enough upload/download speed to do anything work related which was a problem for me. The mircowave stopped working during our stay.
On the plus side the apartment was warm, comfortable (perhaps more pillows would be good) with a lovely view from the balcony and living space that is very sunny in the afternoons.
Overall a good trip and good accommodation.
