“Great Mountain”
Reviewed 30 March 2012

Totally enjoyed skiing here. It is a huge mountain with lots of runs for all levels of skiers. Line up for the lifts are very minimal, next to none. The snow was good at the time we were there. I definitely will come back!

Lots of places to eat in the village.

The drive to he mountain was easy, roads were clean and no snow. Took about an hour from Kelowna.

“Awsome Condo at Stonegate Bigwhite, BC”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

Rented a first floor condo at Stonegate (#3103) at Bigwhite Ski mountain in kelowna. It was so nice to just step out of condo and onto the ski hill. No taking elevators ar stairs to get to the ski locker. #3103 ( 2 bedroom 1100sq ) had the best location to get to the ski hill, and ammenity centre (pools, hottubs, movie theatre, playroom, gym) in the whole complex. our condo had 3 tvs, surround sound, video games, granite kitchen, stone fireplace, and top notch comfortable furniture and beds. What an awsome condo, i will definately go back

“Big is an apt description!”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

This year my wife, daughter and I visited the resort after the Canadian, US schools had returned. This timing allowed us to catch up with some of our Australian friends prior to their departure for home (due to school requirements). The balance of our time (until mid Feb) was spent in skier heaven!
Let me back track a little as we had originally visited the resort after watching "Get Away" which featured Big White. Well that led to our first visit as a family back in 2004/5 season. How happy were we? Totally! A great family mountain, for all ages. As a parent you can feel totally secure in the knowledge that the kids will be safe and well looked after in the ski school organization and that the many activities that are held on a regular basis after tow closing are arranged with fun and entertainment in mind for the children.
So satisfied have we been with not just the friendliness of the mountain staff, but the overall mountain that we have made Big White an annual activity since our first visit.
Both our children have fled the "folds of home" and are either at university or following their hearts desire in their new found love of snow skiing. Both have become ski instructors in recent years and look forward to using their skills in the 2012/13 season.
Back to the mountain - the facilities available for dining out experiences vary from basic to middle of the road and casual attire over the whole mountain is the dress code (makes packing easy!) 6 Degrees would have to be our favorite restaurant on the mountain (in the Stonebridge complex). At the other end of the scale is Snowshoe Sam's, great for the young at heart looking for après drinks and cheap (but good) bar food, a bit reminiscent of Aussie pub food of days gone by.
The accommodation on the mountain caters for all budgets, from hostel through to 5 star. Most of the accommodation is apartment style (condo's) with well equipped kitchens etc. one of the great attractions is that a lot of this accommodation is true ski in, ski out! Very hard to beat! The mountain village is central to the accommodation sector and offers easy access to the ski shops, bars, ski hire, the shopping market ( a small supermarket with most of the essentials including meats, veggies and a bottle shop).
To the most important part - skiing. With a total of 16 lifts and a possible 118 runs of varying difficulty, the mountain caterers for skiing of all standards. My days of skiing bumps are basically past so I enjoy many of the average 55 runs that are groomed! Night skiing is also available on selected runs on certain nights.
Big White can also throw all types of weather at you, from brilliant clear sunny skys to total white outs! Fortunately you can still ski in many areas during the bleaker times which are in and amongst the "snow ghosts" (tree's that are covered in frozen snow) this is especially so on the Black Forest run.
It is, and has been a mountain that has left us with many a pleasant memory and we all look forward to our return next season.
If you enjoy family, skiing (boarding) and are looking for a reasonably priced holiday and not be covered in glitzy high priced shopping of some of the larger resorts, then Big White is worth a serious look at.

“Wow snow!”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

Great runs for all levels, decent options for snacking/lunch. Accomodations are expensive and there is not much to do in the evenings for families.
