Perfect ski in ski out location. The room was nicely appointed and although I slept on the pull out sofa/bed, it was very comfortable. The staff at the Chateau Big White were very friendly and accommodating, and a delight to converse with. The location is right in the village, close to restaurants, pubs, and the gondola. I am looking forward to our next visit.

We travelled here with a group of 11 and had 5 loft rooms and one two bedroom apartment. The loft rooms are pretty basic but furnished well and have everything you need for an amazing holiday!!
Bathrooms have heated floors, and a shower over bath. Kitchenette is basic but has a stovetop and microwave and plenty of utensils should you wish to cook your own food! There is a small sitting area and a lovely bedroom upstairs all with plenty of storage areas!
Staff here were incredible and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Definitely try out the day spa if you get a chance, perfect for those aching muscles after a few days on the slopes!
Can not wait to return next year!!

We travelled to Big White by car from Vancouver, this trip is not for the faint hearted!!! We experienced ice cover Roads & blizzards, but we finally made it, some 8 hours later. The best way to get here is to fly to Kelowna. The hotel is situated at the top end of the village main street. Perfectly located to most of the restaurants & Bars. The rooms are a tad on the smallish side, but a very comfortable & cosy and serviced each day. Our room opened out onto a balcony and 3 steps where on the snow. A true ski in Ski out hotel.

Room Tip: This hotel caterers to everyone from a couple to a family, you need to check out the hotel layout.

This property was so conveniently located, next to a lift and across from the little grocery store. The on-property restaurant was quite good. We would definitely come back to this property for another week-long stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the studio with kitchenette, considering the price (~$100/night). Although there were only two of us, a small family of up to 5 could share this easily. There were two queen Murphy beds and a full or queen sofa sleeper, but you'd have to reaarange the coffee table and chairs in order to open up the sofa sleeper to sleep 6. A small TV sat on a shelf above the fireplace. The kitchenette had a two-burner stove, microwave, & coffeemaker which was adequate for basic cooking & reheating. There was a small desk, chair, and lamp in a corner which was very convenient for working on my laptop. A round dining table & chairs for 4, plus two bar stools at the kitchenette counter, plus two easy chairs completed the furnishings. Two large closets outside the bathroom were great for his & hers unpacking. I had trouble getting a good internet connection in the room, which is the only complaint or problem I had. That service was independant from the hotel.

Room Tip: Even though our room overlooked the street facing downhill, it was probably quieter than the rooms facing uphill overlooking the ski mountain and subject to the noise of people coming and going from restaurants, bars, and stores. Higher is probably quieter, too.

On the upside, Chateau Big White has really helpful and friendly staff, a good restaurant (Black Diamond) and the PERFECT location right beside the Plaza chair and right in the middle of the village. On the downside, the loft with kitchenette we booked was a little cramped for 2 adults & 2 kids. The loft bedroom was a good size for the adults, but there was nowhere on the main level for all 4 of us to eat -- only an eating bar with 2 stools, so 2 of us had to eat on our laps on the couch. Not too relaxing. Not sure why they didn't put a coffee table in the room, or even a folding table that could be put away when the sofabed was pulled out? We weren't expecting a 5-star property, so we weren't too upset, but Chateau Big White could definitely use some freshening up. A little dark and '70s! And neither the main or pullout beds were particularly comfortable. But like I said, the location and staff went a long way in making us overlook the shortcomings of the room. Before booking again, we would check out other properties in a similar location or at least see if there were bigger rooms at Chateau Big White.

Room Tip: We stayed on the side facing away from the village, as we heard they were quieter. We didn't notice outside noise, although we could hear other people in the hotel through the vents!

Dear AbenaOhene,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such great feedback regarding your recent stay with us at Big White Ski Resort. We are pleased to hear that your stay was enjoyable and that you hope to return soon.

The Chateau Big White has several different types of units with varying size and bed configurations. The next time you plan a visit to Big White I recommend viewing the properties on the Big White website. We list the approximate size of each property and have photos of every room. I think this will help you choose a property that you will find more comfortable for your family.
