Description: In the Seerestaurant of the Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz you are able to enjoy seasonal and light creations in an elegant ambience. Situated directly on the lakeside, the restaurant offers an exceptional choice of vegetarian dishes, fish, meat and specialities from the grill. Numerous fine desserts are the icing on the cake. The unique view over Lake Constance gives the Seerestaurant in Konstanz its really specific flair. The view over the lake and the surrounding countryside takes the enjoyment of the modern and light, international yet seasonal dishes to a completely new level to enhance the experience. And last, but not least, the Seerestaurant im Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz is one of the most popular places to dine in the region.

What a beautiful hotel, with a very interesting history. The Reception staff were obviously very used to people dropping in to see the stunning murals round the Cloisters, absorb the history of the hotel; and then maybe have coffee and cake on the terrace over the Lake. We did all those things and really enjoyed it.
It is a treat to enjoy while you're in Konstanz. Although a little more expensive than the average cafe, you are paying for the views, it's well worth it, so I'd recommend it.

Thank Karen L

We used to love and praise this place but our last couple of experiences were all going South. Went back there with a befriended couple on a Tuesday for lunch. Although there were plenty of tables we were seated towards the back and a nice open table facing the lakefront was denied due to a reservation .... later more
Food was 50/50 which isn't what you expect at this kind of restaurant. My fish as a main course was excellent although super tiny. My wife's and my friends wife's dish were average at best. Service was uninspired and staff looked and acted super stressed despite the restaurant wasn't fully booked at all.
After we finished and paid, the table at the lakefront was still empty and nobody sat there for the last 1 1/2 hours- only then the General Manager came sat down there and had lunch with his staff. Great to see that Management gets the table with the view over paying customers.
Another point which clearly shows the arrogance this hotel displays towards their paying customers was the parking. After spending nearly 200 Euro for lunch, we had to pay for parking - Steigenberger isn't willing to pay or refund 3 Euro over a 200 Euro meal.
I have a pending upcoming hotel booking for my brothers 35thwedding anniversary and his wife's 70th - but I will not invite them for dinner at the hotel but prefer to take them to Riva where you are always being treated like a VIP, food and service is far better and parking is free.
I'm afraid this was our last dining experience at the Steigenberger as I'm not willing to pay for this poor customer service attitude and/or support this level of arrogance towards loyal and repeating customers. It's a shame.

Whether you choose to eat inside or outside, weather permiting, the views are monumental. Especially when you sit outside your meal is accompanied by the mesmerising music of the waves breaking practically at your feet - you could imagine that you are on an island of the Aegean sea. The service is efficient and courteous without being noisy. The menu is complete, professionally prepared and presented - well worth a Michelin star. It goes without saying that there was excellent extra virgin olive oil on the table.

Decent food but given the price I have had better. The views are stunning and you pay a premium for that - the Garlic soup was great.
