We stayed here whilst on a cycling holiday. The hotel was very nice with a spacious and clean bar/reception area and is very handy for town. The breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of foods on offer. Our room was clean and comfortable but incredibly hot. We stayed in July when temperatures were 30+C and were extremely disappointed to have no air conditioning in our room. This meant that we had two very uncomfortable nights with very poor sleep quality. A shame, as otherwise we were pleased with the hotel.

I stayed here in July and had no complaints, a wonderful hotel, great clean room and great staff. I then stayed one week later and had a good room which was clean BUT without air conditioning. I chose this hotel specifically because it had air conditioning.

I spoke to 4 different members of staff and each time I was told the air conditioning would be fixed by the time I got back to my room. The last member of staff “fixed” this by putting a fan in my room. This is not acceptable when the room advertised and paid for had air conditioning.

On check out I mentioned it again and was told some story about inability to get mechanic etc. this is not my problem and if this was truly the case then ALL the other staff I spoke to should not have offered to fix the problem. I was told that a note would be put on my record and some reduction could be made when I visit again however with the way this issue was treated I doubt very much that I will re-visit this hotel

I booked a "superior double room" for two nights directly on the hotel website and ended up in a "not so superior" room. I was surprised at the room allocated to us and wondered if there had been some kind of mistake. Instead of the large, spacious room advertised on the website, we were given a very small, cramped room. The bed was very small and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very flat. The room was also very dark and did not have any view. I complained to reception and was told that the picture on the website was only an indication and not represent the reality?? So for a small room costing over 275 euros per night, not including any parking or breakfast, I felt a bit ripped off.

The check-in was also poor, we asked for parking information and the receptionist simply said that we had to find it ourselves as the hotel did not have a car park. We were also asked to settle everything in advance, even though the room had been pre-booked with a credit card. This was not a welcome feeling at all.

Another annoying thing is that you have to hand over the room keys every time you go out and ask for them when you return, so good luck if you end up in a queue at reception when you return.

All in all, it was not a pleasant stay. It's a shame because the location of the hotel is very good, but somehow you have the feeling that you are not welcome here and are only treated as a one-off tourist. If I were to go back to Lake Constance, I would definitely look for other choices.
