Unfortunately, on weekends and public holidays you cannot reserve a table. But we were lucky this time.
While we were waiting for a table the kids could play on the playground. The waiter even went outside to tell us that a table is getting free for us.
Nice service!

We came here with family for dinner on a Friday evening. You definitely have to make reservations or you won't be dining here; the restaurant is always packed. As it is off the beaten path, it is a definite must try if you are anywhere near the area.
We enjoyed the location, ambience, and food but our waiter was not so good. Everyone was asked for the choice of beverage but somehow the waiter neglected to ask me for my choice, which he still did not notice when he served-up the drink order. We had the Pfalzer Teller (good) and the Sommer Flammkuchen (it arrived sans schinken and had to be remade; it was good). But the true gem was the desert! The Schwarzwald Kirschtorte was the best we have Ever eaten anywhere in Europe; it was truly divine!!!
If you cannot go here to dine then at least buy a desert and take it with you!!!!

Dear DayDreamer13 ,

what a good review with substance and empathy!

We are really pleased and happy about your valuation of our work.
And believe me i am deeply sorry, that the fauxpas happened that the waiter did not ask you. Certainly we will work on that. My apologizes.
Our homemade Desserts and Cakes are meanwhile truly a big thing in our area. Helena and Sebastian our confectioners had a real bright smile in their face when they read about your review of the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte ! And i am proud of them !
:-D
Thanks a lot und hope to see you soon in our theater !

Yours
Harald Schlumpp and Team

The concept is homegrown vegetables and fruits prepared and served in a garden setting. Everything tasted fresh, but there wasn't anything special about the dishes we ordered, they were just OK. Many of the tables in the garden have no shade, and we were there on one of the hottest days of the summer, so we were not particularly comfortably seated either. We changed tables once trying to find a little more shade. Really not worth going out of the way to get there.

You would never come across this place unless someone told you about it. You won't pass by it while driving in any of the towns in the area. It is in the farm fields. You can buy local produce at the shop there. The restaurant has many food options from lighter to heavy fare. They also have a multiple course meal option which the people at the table next to us had and said was very good. It's a very busy place all times of the day. They have a large seating capacity outside to handle the large crowds. Pricing is also reasonable!
