Excellent stay. Genuine host. Easy walk through the railway station up a path to the old town. Restaurant Calabrese below is good as is Da Branka in town
Nice roomy apartment in 1930's era house. Everything works fine, very nice pleasant host who is English. Speaks German and English, house has wifi and cable tv. Was very hot when we got there, really could use AC or fans, both of which seem rare in Germany. Easy parking on the street, Plenty of room for the four of us and could sleep 6. Full kitchen, and grocery store close by.
The apartment is spacious with good beds and there were four of us staying. It has a small patio and we loved sitting there, enjoying the magnificent view. There is a very good Italian restaurant next to it and some good supermarkets also close by. The Berchtesgaden National Park is exceptionally beautiful and so much to see and do.
The owner is very friendly and helpful.
Unbelievable! We had a 3-night stay reserved for 6 months, and 2 nights before we were to arrive, Simon cancelled on us. No explanation. We are already in Germany and are now left without a place to stay. All places near by are now booked except for 1 place that costs more than 2.5 times the price. Now we have to completely revise our plans. Do Not Go Here!
Stayed here in October 2016 as a family of 4 with teenage kids. Very comfortable house, which is maybe 10-15 minutes walk from the town centre and maybe 5 from the train station. Note that the walk to the town centre is up-hill and may get older folk puffing a little, but really anyone under 70 will have no problem. Lovely town and ideal base for exploring the local area.
Simon, the owner lives upstairs and is very friendly and full of recommendations for exploring this beautiful part of Germany.

Traveled with my family (wife, 11 y/o daughter, and both my parents) and the flat was great. Simon was a true host, not simply a landlord. He gave excellent advice on the town and where to go, and made sure our stay was perfect. He regularly checked on us, and even invited us to join him in a stroll to town (we couldn't because my dad's knees require that we drive). The five of us slept well and the flat was properly accommodated. Very close to town and the train station. Walking distance for those reasonably fit, and by car only a couple minutes to the town center.
My one and only constructive criticism; the Wi-Fi speeds were painfully slow and not useful for modern applications. It was fine for email retrieval, but not suitable for date intensive usage (video, video-conferencing, games, etc). Simon, should really up the Wi-Fi data package for future guests.
On measure, I would certainly stay at this flat and rent from Simon again, and can recommend 5 out 5 stars for both the flat and Simon!
