Great place to stay for a relaxing few days in the beautyful Black Forest region. Add the great wine to the picture and you have an ideal environment.
The hotel is quiet although it's located along a road at the outskirts of Oberkirch.
Service is great, rooms are clean, meals are typical and offer good quality. People are friendly and helpful.
Swimming pool is an absolute asset!

Room Tip: If you look for absolute quietness, avoid the road side

The hotel is (relatively) small and cosy. It is situated in a quiet suburb of Oberkirch (close to Europa park, Freiburg, etc.). We enjoyed total privacy in the pool and sauna area.

We traveled with our two toddlers and everyone fell in love with their room. It was just like home away from home, fully stocked with children books, card games and video cassettes (a vintage site by itself).

Breakfast had good variety and service. We also ate dinner at the hotel on two occasions. It was superb - a fact that did not go unnoticed by the many locals frequenting it in the evenings.

For some reason, the booking service we used specified that the local tourist tax was included in the price - to the surprise of the manager. However, he made sure no extra charges were incurred on our part. In general, everyone in the hotel was extremely kind and helpful.

On the down side, the bathroom was not clean upon our arrival and its forging showed notable wear and tear. It was discouraging at first but proved to be outside the norm.

This is a typical old style German hotel. Excellent quality rooms and service. Rooms are very clean as is the rest. Owners pass by during dinner and breakfast (both of very good quality) to ask if you are happy and know your name. Lies amongst the vinyards. Would for sure come hefe again.

We stayed a week at Landhotel Salmen and had a wonderful time, so much so that we plan to make it our 'German hotel' and visit many more times. We had a suite which was unexpected and lovely and the food was the best we have tasted anywhere. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the evening meal (we had half board) was amazing value for money and amazing food too. The local wine added to the experience and we bought lots to take home! Our hosts were friendly, helpful and went that extra mile to make sure all their guests were happy. They were really busy for many of the days with local parties too but nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a perefect week.

We only stayed one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was spacious and well appointed. First rate service by all staff. We asked about hiking at check-in and received instructions to the nearby Allerheiligen Falls. Great hiking! The hotel has a pool which several guests used. The adjacent restaurant served an excellent evening meal and the breakfast buffet (inclusive) was delicious. My only negative is that balcony chairs and table didn't match the quality of the other room furnishings. Also, please note that the wifi is device specific. Ask for an ID+Password for each device.

We're already planning our trip back.
