We stayed for three nights in October. Everything about the hotel was great.
(1) Gil is as amazing as everyone else has said. He gave us great recommendations, helped when our bags had to be delivered from Frankfurt (the bags missed the connecting flight), helped us with obtaining Euros (online research said credit cards was the way to go everywhere in Germany- turns out not in St. Goar- cash only at the restaurants!) And was just generally pleasant every time we interacted.
(2) Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The view was amazing.
(3) Incredibly convenient to the train station.
(4) The breakfast was great - one of the best we had on the trip. In addition to being helpful and nice, Gil also makes amazing scrambled eggs.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting St. Goar.

Room tip: Balcony suite on second floor has a very nice view and is not noisy despite the street outside

The hotel was a recommendation from Stephen from Stephan’s Wine Paradise. This was a perfect hotel for anyone staying close by. Gil is a great host. His restaurant/reservation was amazing. A must stay.

It’s all true - Gil is the most perfect host and hotel manager you can imagine! Endless attention to detail and will possibly overwhelm you with suggestions of things you can do ... please accept his suggestion of an easy 2km walk to Weinberg Philipps-Muhle, it’s well worth it!

Perfectly placed, mid Rhein, across the road from where the ferries dock and a very short walk to the train station, this quaint hotel is very clean, and managed by a very courteous, helpful man named Gil.
A sumptuous breakfast was included in our tarrif.
You'd be hard-pressed to find better.
Our only disappointment was the lack of coffee making faciluties and being the coffee addicts that we are, we were hanging out for 8am when the dining room opened each morning. We couldn't find anywhere else in the village that opened before 8 either.

The Rheinhotel is a small hotel, with a neat but basic room and very small bathroom. But the hospitality by Gil is unbelievable. He made sure we knew what is available in town, where to eat and what to do. Thanks Gil for your great service and the lovely stay.
