Stood there one night traveling through in the low season. Rooms are very clean and seemed to have a good quality noise isolation. The water in the shower had the best pressure I have seen in my entire life. Staff is welcoming and relaxed. Breakfast was excelent, with several types of bread, natural juices, smoked salmon, cheese and so forth. Decoration is quite nice in the common quaters, but in the rooms there seem like a cheap immitation of a rustic style. If you stay there, consider dinning at the hotel, which, although not particularly cheap, is ok for german standards and has some nice regional food and wines. Considering the price, I would say that the hotel goes as far as it can.

Will first mention their shuttle service to/from Hahn airport. 10 euro pro person seems to be a very good deal, especially as a single traveller.. According to the tourist information office a taxi is 40-45 euro.
The location could not be any better - right in the heart of the Old Town. The old buildinh with the reception and restaurant is a treasure, and I assume the courtyard a nice place for a drink in the summer season.
The rooms in a newer building. Good thing is that they have a decent size. However a bit poorly lit and the dark carpet + curtains have seen better times. Sleep quality was fine
Nice bathtub, but the shower on the other hand, lived its own life and did not "obey" any of my attempts to tame it.......
Delicious breakfast. Friendly service. Altough a bit annoyed by the system of a given table for each room -was tucked away in a corner for my early breakfast, whereas all the nice roomy tables were not taken......

My family ( husband and 7 yo) stayed here after arriving from Australia on the 23 hr flight. We stayed 1 night but wish we had stayed longer. The hotel is in a great location - right in the pedestrianised center and they also have nearby locked parking if you let them know you have a car in advance. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a room on the top floor with three single beds - there is a lift which we found to be a rare commodity when staying in old towns. The food was good especially the breakfast. This was a great place to start our holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My wife and I spent 3 nights (27-30 May, 2010) here. We had bought a package consisting of breakfast & dinners, tastings of wines, a boat trip at the Mosel, "Waffel im Garten" etc. The city of Bernkastel-Kues is a fantastic place to enjoy medevial architecture and athmosphere. One day we hiked (went by feet) through the wonderful landscape up to the medevial castle - and even much higher - passing through grapewine areas and a beautiful forest. The view from the top, overlooking the Mosel and the landscape around it, was really enjoyable. The next day we rented bicycles and went downwards the Mosel to Traben-Trarbach (20 kilometers.) We stopped at a couple of Weinstuben to taste the local wine... The distance is very simple to ride! After having a wonderful German lunch, we went back with a sightseeing boat (we and many others brought the bicycles onboard for the ca. 2 hrs ride (cost 11-12 Euro per person incl. the bike).
The service at the hotel was very friendly and nice, and the three breakfasts as well as the three dinners (3, 4 and 5 courses resp.) we had, was very good. The hotel building is very old indeed (from approx. year 1665, I think), and the interior typical & local. The rooms (we looked at three of them before finally deciding in which one to stay) are off course not top modern, however really OK (if you doen't expect to much). Due to the narrow streets and squares, they are rather dark. Our double bed had two different mattresses (one quite good, the other one terrible hard), and after commenting on that, the staff put some blankets on top of that mattress (under the sheet).
We were indeed very satisfied with our stay, and we want to come back to this charming hotel and the beautiful city!

Charming hotel hundreds of years old in a gorgeous village. Really nice owners who make a point of accommodating their guests. Nice rooms (and an elevator to get you there!) Great interior courtyard that's lovely for a glass of wine at the end of the evening. The breakfast was first rate in a charming restaurant downstairs.
