“Food was an issue but otherwise can't complain”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

I stayed here with fellow students to do fieldwork around the Pembrokeshire coast area for a week in March 2011. Right beside the beach, it was a good location for what we needed. There are a variety of sizes of bedrooms - ours was a five bed and had an en-suite. The room was a little cramped but I wouldn't complain about it because we spent little time there apart from sleeping. Rooms are accessed with key cards though we weren't able to have a card each. We had two between five of us. Can't speak on value for money since it was subsidised by the university anyway. We did have a problem with the catering though. There are a lot of options available - provided you have no dietary requirements. I and a few others do, and though we informed the hostel in advance, nothing was provided for us so we were stuck with very bland, basic food which was definately not good value for money.

I'm really sorry you felt the food wasn't up to scratch, but thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We can now take your comments forward in order to develop more interesting menu alternatives for those with specific dietry requirements.

We've just come back from a fantastic stay at the Broadhaven yha. Great location, 3 minutes from the beach. Facilities are just what is needed for a family holiday. Dining room overlooks sea and there are patios in front and behind hostel.
Lounge is cosy and has toy area and DVDs for kids. Kitchen is spacious and well stocked and self caterers can eat in the dining room as well.
Staff are without exception friendly and very attentive, always willing to give advice on where to go. We saw St David's, Tenby, White Sands Bay and Marloe's Coast. All very beautiful.
The hostel is a brilliant base to see this gorgeous area and I would strongly recommend it for a good family holiday.

Lovely Location - near to beach

We had a family room with ensuite which was clean, basic and worked well for the five of us.

The kitchen was modern and had plenty of equipment. The fridge and freezer not really big enough for busy periods but we shopped on the way to and from the hostel.

The Baptist Church in Broad Haven was very welcoming with plenty of groups for all ages of children.

We loved Oakwood theme park on a slighlty damp day which meant it was quiet. We got there early and headed straight for the bigger rides at the other side of park and didnt have a problem with queues at all.

The swimming pool in Haverfordwest is very modern and children swim for free (adults only £2!). The cafe in there was very reasonable too.

Very enjoyable holiday for everyone - very good Youth Hostel.
