Owner description: Hoghton Tower is one of Lancashire’s gems – come and find out why. A Tudor – Elizabethan manor and the ancestral home of the de Hoghton family, the Tower stands proudly on its hill overlooking the surrounding countryside. Join a guided tour of the panelled state rooms to hear about the history of the house, the family and the distinguished guests who have enjoyed the house over the centuries. Stroll through the beautiful walled gardens and take in the views. Kids will love the underground passages, the ramparts, dungeons and Dolls House collection. Take a browse in the gift shop and finish your day out in the tea room. Private and School tours available year round with prior arrangement. On the third Sunday of each month, come to our Farmers Market – ‘The Merchant of Hoghton’- a celebration of regional produce. Hoghton Tower can be hired on an exclusive basis for your private pary or wedding. Stay overnight in the Irishman's Tower. All income from tours benefits the Hoghton Tower Preservation Trust – preserving heritage for all.

Having attended the fabulous Halloween kids ghost tour took two 10 year olds for Easter activities . The staff couldn’t have been more helpful , got to see the dolls houses, scary underground tunnels the great hall . This place is on my doorstep but few people seem to have been unless it’s the symphony at the tower . It is a fascinating place still privately owned and lived in !! A small on site cafe does food and there where plenty of available crafts to keep the little ones happy . Thank you to Steve our guide you were wonderful ! We will be back

although we only live a couple of miles away and have done for 50 + years it's not somewhere we'd ever talked about going to. We love history and decided we drop in on our way home ...its was just amazing Chris did the guided tour and his knowledge is phenomenal.... if you like history it's a house full of hidden gems ..well worth a visit ..thanks to the family for looking at creative ways to protect their home and our heritage for future generations... Shamazing thanks to everybody

We decided to go to the drive in movie day/night at Hoghton Tower. There were films during the day for the children we went for 7 pm to watch Love Actually. The staff were very helpful and friendly, food was available on site. Although it was a rainy night it was a cute experience watching the film in our car. The sound came through the FM radio and we did have some buzzing at times. A lovely night.

My son and daughter in law had their wedding reception here. Fantastic venue for a wedding if you get everything in place - we had a lovely reception in the courtyard with a string quartet, moved into the gardens for garden games and further refreshments and canapes, then into the splendid banqueting hall for a magnificent meal (With a Twist caterers), wonderful piano music from the minstrels' gallery and then duelling pianos for the party afterwards. Absolutely fantastic day in a truly gorgeous setting.
