We stopped here for lunch ; there were 5 of us. The sandwiches were delicious and the restaurant were happy to allow us to share 3 between us, which was ample. We also ordered a starter and that was delicious too. The staff were very helpful and we would certainly visit again and recommend to others.

The place was terribly noisy people shouting to make themselves heard. Wouldn't set foot in it again.

Driving past Hollingworth Lake we decided to pop in here for some light lunch.
In general, the place was clean - however the deco is definitely more suited to a night time/ visit for cocktails.

When seated we were approached immediately and brought menus and had our drinks order taken. Upon looking at the menu there was a vast array of choices, especially considering as it was advertised as a tapas place. There was a lunch menu, an early bird menu, a page for mains and salads and an additional page labelled “tapas and starters”- this page was probably the most confusing as there was no differentiation between the two, simply a long list of what was offered. In my experience of tapas, there is generally no more than 12-15 items on the menu, catergorised by meat, fish, vegetarian etc. However, on this menu, the soup of the day was above the pork in red wine sauce, closely followed by bruschetta and then fish.
Once deciphered, we ordered three of the tapas dishes to share: whitebait, bruschetta and potatas bravas con chorizo.

It took well over 30 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did we were far from impressed. The bruschetta was served in one long strip on half a baguette and covered with watery mozzarella, the whitebait was barely warm and clearly just put in the oven from a packet. Similarly, the potatas bravas consisted of a pile of potatoes covered in unseasoned tomato sauce (that tasted like it was from a jar) and pieces of sliced chorizo piled on top (not the crunchy potatoes and chunks of delicious chorizo I had expected).

There was a general lack of ambience in the room, once we had eaten as much of the food as we could stomach we left quite sharpish. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to actually get our food, unlike the poor man sat behind who had been waiting 45 minutes for a sandwich and was still waiting when we left.

Overall, it’s safe to say that I will not be rushing back. It seems as though this place is confused as to what it is; it it a lunch time cafe? Is it a tapas bar? Is it a place for evening meals?
I’m still not sure what it is trying to be, but it certainly needs to decide and stick to one thing properly, instead of trying to do everything badly.
That being said, the staff were polite and seemed to have a rapport with locals and the bar looked well stocked with a vast array of cocktails on offer- if I do return it will definitely just be for drinks and not food.
