We stayed in the one bedroom Villa Allegra apartments on the ground floor, where both the kitchen and living room open onto a terrace with views across the lake, you also have access to sun loungers, and we were apparently very lucky this summer to have seen quite a bit of sun! The owners are lovely and speak very good English, they give lots of advice on what to do and see in the regions, ranging from where to eat, shop, market days to wonderful short or all day visits. We visited Lake Maggiore, the Valleys and Mountains, but mostly we appreciated the rather lovely Orta San Guillo. The apartment is charming and very clean with everything you could need for your stay. I would say though that you really do need a car to get around or even just to get down to the lake.
