After a hectic 6 weeks on holiday, we spent a week here to relax and unwind...and this place was perfect. The villa has been converted into 5 apartments. Marcella, the owner lives in one. My husband and I stayed in Casa Bale. It was perfect for us -self-contained, large and very comfortable with lots of charm. It had everything we needed, including a lovely area of garden in front of our apartment with great views over the lake. Marcella was lovely, providing maps for day trips and restaurant recommendations. There is plenty to do from here if you wish. You will need a car if you stay here as it's a few kilometers from everything but the local village, which is easy walking distance. We thought this was one of it's charms though, as we were out of the hustle and bustle, but could easily drive in if we wanted to. This place is highly recommended! Enjoy!
We stayed in the one bedroom Villa Allegra apartments on the ground floor, where both the kitchen and living room open onto a terrace with views across the lake, you also have access to sun loungers, and we were apparently very lucky this summer to have seen quite a bit of sun! The owners are lovely and speak very good English, they give lots of advice on what to do and see in the regions, ranging from where to eat, shop, market days to wonderful short or all day visits. We visited Lake Maggiore, the Valleys and Mountains, but mostly we appreciated the rather lovely Orta San Guillo. The apartment is charming and very clean with everything you could need for your stay. I would say though that you really do need a car to get around or even just to get down to the lake.
