“Great Holiday in Brittany”

The house was within easy access of all the areas we wished to visit, it was charming, large, well equipped, was comfortable and in a pretty village, it is along from the church and the bells do ring from 7am and they are loud, this may not be for everyone. The house is quite noisy between bedroom floors as it is all wooden flooring, they would be my only negatives as overall I loved the house itself. The village has a tabac within walking distance, they do ice cream, papers and have a small bar, the Boulangrie has unfortunately closed down so you need to drive to the next village for fresh bread daily. Which was a little disappointing if I'm honest. But there is a park for the children nearby and you can walk to the Rance which has a little beach by
the campsite. I chose the house as it was ideal for visiting Dinan, Cancale & St Malo, Mont St Michel and Dinard, with Rennes near by if you want the city, there are also some beautiful spots on the Rance to admire, Dinan has a market on a Thursday which is great and the recommended Cora supermarket was good, we picked a great week weather wise and really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend it.

“Fantastic property”

We have just returned from 10 days at this property, loved the house, location and most of all the facilities. I will start with a couple of negatives that would not drop my rating but to be aware. Firstly it's a beautifully restored former post office with the traditional floors and beams, hence no sound proofing! I have to say this was a bit of an issue as we made the mistake of allowing our in laws to have the top bedroom, so when they woke up early, we all did! The only thing missing in this very well equipped property would be a microwave. It's a small thing but do think the property would benefit from one.

Now the positives, firstly the wi fi is top notch, there are so many extras with the house not listed like a very handy herb garden (rosemary, sage and bay leaves), but the huge one for us was the bikes. They were used almost daily and a great way to discover the surrounding area. This house suited us as an active couple with older in laws, but would also suit a family. We opted to take our own bed linen and both double beds are UK king size and very comfortable. We are not people who return to the same area twice so for only that reason we would not return but we will highly recommends to any friends who are planning to visit the area. If anybody has any questions I will be happy to answer them

“Pleasant place to spend a week - it may be an ancienne poste but it has mod cons”

We spent a week in July at L'Ancienne Poste and liked it very much. We were a group of 4 (2 couples - retirement age). The house has space for at least 4 more people, but is probably best suited for families with children because of the bunk beds in the second bedroom. Two things that might make it awkward for some people/groups are: (1) The en-suite bathroom in the bedroom on the top floor of the main part of the house is actually part of the room and not a separate room which may create privacy issues for some people. (2) The twin bedroom in the mezzanine above the dining room does not have easy access to a bathroom - down one flight of stairs, across three rooms and up a flight of stairs. Other than those issues (which didn't bother our group), the place is great. Parking is no problem. The kitchen is well equipped, the washer and dryer work well, and a wireless network had just been added. The boulangerie across the street is still there and very busy.
The village is not on a beach, but is in a good location for touring the Rance estuary, pink granite coast and Mont St. Michel. There is no restaurant in La Ville-es-Nonais, but good ones in the next villages north and west. We were there during a heat wave, but with shutters closed during the day, the house stayed cool and comfortable for sleeping - no mosquitos with windows open at night.
