The Klosterbraustuberl was extremely busy for lunch. Not surprising as it was 6 of January, a holiday day in Germany, and with plenty of snow around a very popular destination for many cross-country skiers from Munich. Excellent, homely fair "gute bürgerliche Küche" with the Kloster brew not to be missed. Recommend, maybe try to book a table in advance.

The restaurant inside and the beer garden outside is a must for each person to stop by, once they pass by to go for skiing or hiking, even take a bath at the lake of Kirchsee.
The Bavarian food is amazing

We stopped off at this place on our way to the Austrian Alps the day after Oktoberfest.

Although there were some rough heads in the group, the scenery was spectacular and the food wonderful.

Some of our party braves the local white sausages but most stuck with a plan pretzel and coke.

Staff were really attentive and, by the time we left, the outdoor tables were all occupied on what was a lovely autumn day. Book ahead...

The restaurant is on top of a hill next to a cloister, inside and outside seating can be chosen from. Overlooking a meadow with grassing cows and enjoying the bavarian alps in the background its a perfect place to chill out from a nice day touring the mountains or swimming the lakes. The food was fine and service friendly as well as attentive. Parking with cars is comfortable as parking places in front ot the restaurant.

The Klosterbraustuberl Reutberg is a true gem. About 30 miles southwest of Munich, it is worth a detour. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside under old oak trees and enjoy the unbelievable panoramic view of the Bavarian Alps. The beer is locally brewed in the Kloster brewery. There are several types of beer including seasonal ones - all of them are most delicious. Food is broad but still focused, ranging from roasted duck to the typical Schweinebraten. Deserts are outstanding. You can get all of that for around $100/family of four. After a good meal you can walk to the adjacent church and thank heaven for the great day.
