We had a 3 night stay, sleeping in two twin rooms. The rooms were comfortable and we all (party of 4) had a really good nights sleep here. It was a quite location, with stunning views out the front windows. We were very lucky with the weather which enhanced our experience, but I think the friendly welcome we received, warmed us to this accommodation.

Room Tip: Keswick a 5 minute drive away

A lovely 4* rosette guest house. Lovely friendly staff, lovely room and a good breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a twin room that was nice, very clean, comfortable and good value for money. The house is just off the A66, about 3mile from Keswick centre and near to Basenthwaite lake. An excellent base for walkers and tourists. Close to the village of Braithwaite and its lovely, real ale, pubs. The house has a very relaxed feel about it. I would strongly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at Maple Bank. We had 2 rooms facing the main A66 about 100 yards away, but the secondary glazing cut out most of the traffic noise. The view of Skiddaw from the rooms was beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the ensuite shower rooms were adequate but small.
Breakfast was hearty, with the usual selection of fruit and cereals followed by a full English breakfast and plenty of tea or coffee and toast.
Our only disappointment was the lack of a guest sitting room. Any time in the guest house was spent in our rooms, but at least the TV worked well.

Room Tip: The stairs are quite steep for elderly visitors.

We stayed at the Maple Bank guest house for 2 nights on a walking trip from work. Fantastic guest house, great hosts who could not do enough for us, rooms spotless and a fantastic breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and will hopefully return next year to complete the walk we failed to do due to adverse weather.

Room Tip: Great views from rooms at front.

My partner & I stayed for 2 nights with our dog. We had to book a twin room as the Lodge was fully booked which isn't a massive issue to us. However, our room was quite compact for us & the dog & the en-suite was a bit dated.

The room was very clean & had everything we required though, beds were comfortable & warm. Free Wifi throughout which was a godsend as signal on my phone was poor most of the time.

Very dog friendly, obviously dogs not allowed in the dining room so we put her in the car as it wasn't very warm in the mornings - if it had of been we would have taken it in turns to have breakfast.

Breakfast is super!! Cooked & continental style buffet available. Tommy & Rhona potter around and notice if you need more tea/coffee or toast - very attentive.

Rhona & Tommy are very friendly people & we felt very comfortable in their home. When we next book we will make sure we have a double room so we have a little more space.

Looking forward to seeing you again!

Heidi, Dave & Orla.

Wanted to put this review on about the recently renovated Maple Bank Cottage, which is next door to the guest house
It has been lovingly renovated and extended and features some wonderfully decorated rooms by Rhonda and Tommy
A whole new living/dining area complete with a full length bi-fold door which goes out to the seating area. A lovely appointed kitchen with an induction hob(took a bit of getting used to) all slate floor which complimented the soft furnishings, including many wonderful cushions
Upstairs 4 exquisite bedrooms with stunning feature walls
We were the first to stay here along with our dog Isla - she seemed to love the cold slate floor in the downstairs bathroom!

I cannot speak highly enough of this property. Just outside the busy town of Keswick, walking distance to many wonderful walks and a quick drive up to Whinlatter pass to Go Ape and many cycling and walking trails
We also went to the local village shop that had a good range of many things and served coffee and cake

We were greeted by Rhonda and Tommy and they were there if we ever needed them

A beautifully appointed house that you can take dogs to is quite rare so we thank you for making our holiday special in every way

We are coming back later in the year

Thanks again you have guests for life now
Karen, Mark and Isla the dog
