“Narrabeen Lakefront”
Reviewed January 29, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

This was a fantastic house in a fantastic location,, which suited our family of 6 perfectly. Barbara could not have been more helpful.
Will certainly try to rent this house if we are back next year.

“Lovely comfortable peaceful house on lake.”

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely house on Narrabeen Lake. A three minute walk away was the beach where we spent time doing long walks. A bonus one day was to see a pod of dolphins riding the waves, wonderful. Nearby are shops and a couple of very good restaurants. A must do is to sit on the generous back deck with a glass of wine and enjoy the lake. Our host Barbara was very helpful advising us of what is available around this lovely area. We can recommend this place thoroughly.

“Very nice but not excellent.”
Reviewed July 13, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Barbara is very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The villa is very nice and very well located for the beach and of course to the lake. There are several decent restaurants/cafes nearby.
The garden is excellent for relaxing as is the patio which is also great for eating al fresco.
Criticism is small but worth mentioning. The lake is very entertaining to watch the various sports going by. However, dependant on tide you may spend much of your visit looking at the mud bank which stretches in front of the villa for about 40 metres out to the deeper sections.
The folding doors to the patio are great when open during the day but annoying at night as there is no way you can leave them open with all sorts of flying insects around. Beware, flying cockroaches are nocturnal. The downstairs is air conditioned. I don’t think that we made much use of it. In our Cyprus villa we have air conditioning in the bedroom but not in the public rooms. This, to us, makes sense as we don’t sleep well in the heat. The upstairs main bedroom windows have insect protection but when open you are also open to noise. We needed the windows open every night. Didn’t make for the best sleeping patterns. My Daughter and her husband didn’t find the spare room, bed particularly comfortable. The kitchen is not quite as tidy and clean as our own. I don’t have OCD but would still have preferred it better. This particular comment is not reciprocated by my wife as she thought that the kitchen was fine. In summary, very nice but not excellent.

“What a find!”
Reviewed February 17, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I chose this property because I wanted a relaxing week near to Sydney after a hectic week in Melbourne. It was better than I could have imagined with the beautiful view to wake up to every morning and the fabulous beach at the end of the road. My children just loved it; Fishing from the back garden, paddle boarding on the lagoon and surfing the amazing waves at Narrabeen beach. Narrabeen has plenty to offer; great cafes and restaurants, a decent sized Woolworths, water sports and mini golf. We enjoyed cooking on the BBQ and sitting out on the verandah most evenings, Barbara and Terry (the owners) were very helpful offering us plenty of information on the area. If you are looking for a quiet haven in a fabulous holiday spot then this is the place for you.

“Very Nice Stay”
Reviewed February 13, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

The house is a very nice. We were two adults and four children and we fit nicely. Three bedrooms on the top floor and a family room and a very nice terrace on the ground level. The best part of the house is the terrace / garden /lake. Certainly recommend it if you want to BBQ in the evenings.

“The perfect lakeside setting just minutes from the beach”
Reviewed January 9, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We were absolutely delighted with our week's stay in this beautiful home - it was so relaxing with the most stunning views. Barbara could not have been more helpful and went out of her way to ensure everything was in place for our stay - her attention to detail was superb - she had even put up a Christmas tree which was much appreciated. I felt at home from the moment I arrived and on going out on to the terrace, I couldn't believe how beautiful the garden an location was. Not only was the house itself fantastic, the local amenities were excellent - great walks, shopping, sports facilities and beach - you couldn't wish for more. Our children (all older) really loved the house too - the interior lent itself to sociable family time (always nice to chat whilst cooking) yet there was plenty of outdoor space to chill out, read and peacefully watch the world go by (well the odd pelican or two). Thank you so much to Barbara and Terry - we feel very lucky to have chosen your home to stay in during our trip.
