“A comfortable apartment with an amazing view”

The apartment is well equipped and we found the beds to be very comfortable. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly, and is happy to be contacted by text message if there are any queries. He is also often on-site. The beach is about 250 steps below the apartment, and a water taxi to Dubrovnik, Lokrum island and Cavtat departs from the harbour near there. The buses for both Dubrovnik and Cavtat leave from the main road, about 100 steps down from the apartment, so it's possible to explore quite a bit locally without the need of a hire car. There are restaurants within walking distance, and a mini-market (like a corner shop) near the bus stop. The bakery is just at the end of the road but the supermarket is a slightly further walk away in Serbreno. The weather enabled us to make maximum use of the balcony for eating, and at the end of active days we could relax there and gaze out at the wonderful views. We loved this apartment and felt that it was perfect for the 4 of us, although it can sleep 6. The steps could be a disadvantage for some people, but the view when you get up there is worth it!

“Marvellous Mlini”

This was our first visit to Croatia so we weren't really sure what to expect. But everything was fantastic. The flat is exactly as advertised, with stunning views across to Cavtat on one side and down to Srebreno on the other. The owners, Mihovil and family, looked after us really well and were helpful when we had problems; Mihovil speaks very good English, which helps a lot. In fact, almost everyone working in tourism in this area speaks good English though there's no harm in trying a bit of phrase-book Croatian (it would be impolite not to know at least 'thank you' - 'hvala').
In terms of the location, the flat is also very good. It's only about 15-20 min by taxi to the airport and there are shops nearby. The beach is only about a 5-min walk down the hill (it will take you longer to walk back as it's a steep hill - there are lots of steps too) and the sea is as clear as the photos suggest. There is a bus stop about 2 min away to get buses to Dubrovnik (an essential destination) and Cavtat (a really delightful place). Boats also go from Mlini (10-15 min walk - a lovely spot) and Srebreno (10-15 min) to these destinations and more. We took an all-day excursion to the Elaphite (Elafiti) islands and it was amazing - can't recommend it highly enough. But if you don't feel like going anywhere and just fancy the beach there are lots of places to choose from and lots of nice restaurants too - the food was always great (main courses around £10-20). If you like beer / wine then Croatia will not disappoint either.
All in all, highly recommended. Thanks v. much to Mihovil and family!

“Perfect location for Dubrovnik”
Reviewed 19 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This 3 bedroom, clean and spacious apartment was perfect for our family holiday (with 2 teenagers). The location was quiet, set back from the main road, and with an uninterrupted view of Srebreno bay from the balcony. The walk downhill to the beach was short (10 minutes), care crossing the main road, the walk back up taking slightly longer. Within walking distance, the local amenities provide all you need from excellent restaurants (Marinero, Flamingo, Lanterna) to shops/supermarkets and beach/water activites. We took advantage of the boat ferry service to Dubrovnik old city, Lokrum island and Cavtat so there was no need to hire a car. We had a great holiday.

“Villa Scala in Mlini - wonderful”
Reviewed 16 October 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Great hospitality - daily presents are left in the kitchen from home baked pies and cakes, home made wine or spirits to fresh local fruit. Really good location ( in between airport and city of Dubrovnik). Owners of the flat are very helpful - will advise where to go and what to do in surrounding area. Flat was spacious and very clean and had best view ever!!!!!

“Amazing hospitality”
Reviewed 10 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We spent a great week at Villa Scala. The weather was glorious, the scenery was spectacular, the apartment was comfortable, spacious, well equipped, clean and had superb views over the bay! However we all agreed that the highlight was the people we met, in particular the owners of the apartment and their family. From meeting us at the airport (we were at least an hour late due to a delayed take off) to the almost daily gifts and offers of advice they could not have been more helpful or hospitable and yet never intrusive. Mikhail's sense of humour was a joy and his English brilliant. We were a little concerned that helping to take our luggage up 3 flights of stairs had done permanent damage to his Dad's back, but he was out working in the beautiful garden next day so we were reassured!

We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and would love to return in the near future! A truly memorable trip! Thank you.

“Excellent stay in Mlini (near Dubrovnik)”
Reviewed 27 November 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Our host provided a warm welcome and we felt excellent during our stay. The 2 bedroom apartment is spacious and clean and you'll have a nice view over the sea from the balcony. You'll find anything you need in the apartment. The beach is nearby (5 minutes walk), you'll find good local restaurants in Mlini and a supermarket is also nearby; parking is available on spot and Dubrovnik is 10 minutes ride by car. Bus station is also close
Would definitely go back again.
