I have stayed at many premier inns over the years and will avoid this one in future. While the Premier inn staff were OK the "not a problem" girl serving the breakfasts next door was a little grating after the umpteenth time she'd repeated "not a problem". I assume it's not a problem, so I don't need reminding every time thank you. I asked for double mushrooms and after being told "not a problem" I was served a teaspoonful of them - if that. Something certainly IS a problem when Premier inn are reliant on a 3rd party to run part of their business.

Hotel Staff nice . The hotel felt Old and neglected. The Pub next door needs updating although the food was value for money but not that great. Where we sat there was a hole in the wall. This place needs updating.

Hello Dave

Thanks for taking the time to share your review.

It's a shame to hear that both the hotel and restaurant were outdated and not up to par. We appreciate your feedback and I'll be sure to pass your comments on to our Property Team for their consideration when reviewing our hotels.
Whilst we don't own the attached restaurant, I have also forwarded your comments to the Restaurant Team for their information.

We hope to be able to welcome you back again.

Kind Regards

Amy

The Premier Inn was clean and welcoming. We had a lovely spacious room and reception staff were always most helpful. There is plenty of parking and it is in a very convenient position close to the motorway but also there are plenty of good pubs nearby for good food.
I would not recommend breakfast at the Cat And Lion. It was possibly the worst breakfast we had ever had. The coffee consisted of water in a flask and ordinary Nescafé, no real coffee, cappuccino etc.

Arrived late afternoon to tired and shabby Premier Inn. Decided to have a drink in the bar/restaurant most of the tables had not been cleared from lunchtime at this was at 4:30pm. The tables that were clear certainly were not clear, you placed an item on the table and it was stuck! sticky because they had not been wiped. As a business group we attempted to book for dinner that evening, having finally found a member of staff. Told the "Cook" of "Chef" was off (not working) and it would be a slow service, made the choice to eat off site. At breakfast the poor service continued with a rude waitress who made us feel we were doing her a favour and it was all a bit too much trouble to smile or be civil. I use Premier Inn's on regular basis and over the course of a year must visit twenty five to thirty different Premier Inns and attached Beefeater, Table Table or other restaurant on the same site. The accommodation although tired was okay, clean rooms and good service, however the Bar/Restaurant was exceptionally poor. Certainly would not recommend or eat there again.

Room Tip: Stay in the Hotel but don't use the restaurant

Good nights sleep no problem with noise , breakfast at the pub was a different story not worth £9 . The food in the pub in the evening was not very good either , and the tables needed cleaning but staff very polite and cheerful .

Room Tip: Ground floor no lift.
