“Relax after a long day in the hills!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Mountain View is beautifully laid out and very cosy. It is ideally located for days out in the hills; walking, climbing and skiing; as well as offering great opportunities to explore the Caledonian canal. The owners are very accommodating and provide lots of extras, such as a buggy, child carrier, cot and high chair which make travelling with a young family far easier. A very pleasant stay!

“Suprisingly large!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Having seen the photos on the Mountain View webpage, I was expecting it to be a normal size (couple of bedrooms, bathroom, it said there was a kitchen, etc...), which was a key reason for choosing it over the various chalet/cabin options nearby. When we arrived, we were amazed to find that the place is huge! Main bedroom - large, hallway downstairs for kit dumping - ample, kitchen - massive, sitting room plenty for 4, an upstairs hallway connecting it all and a dining room we hadn't even realised would be there!

As there were 4 adults on a winter mountain trip, this worked out far cheaper than staying in a hostel, with acres of space and privacy. The bunk room is fine for two adults sharing, especially as the ceiling is really high so no head-hitting problems. We also liked doing the morning weather check by looking at Ben Nevis from the kitchen window.

Strongly recommended.

“Awesome”

Just had a wonderful week at Mountain View, I would to thank Tom and Julie for a lovely time nothing is to much trouble right through from the booking to arrival. Charming accommodation lovely comfortable bed, high quality fixtures and fittings, nice roll top bath. Great base for exploring the highlands and islands.
Decent Morrisons in fort William for all your groceries. Tom and Julie supply tea bags coffee toilet rolls etc and a cake for your arrival.
Would thoroughly recommend Mountain View and will be booking for next year

“A dog walkers paradise on the doorstep of first class accommodation”
Reviewed August 18, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The location is superb right next to the canal where you can walk for miles on the towpath if you desire. Short drive to Glen Nevis and local walks. A pub that does great food (The Lochy) 5 minutes walk away (also let dogs in the bar). Fort William is only a 5 minute drive away or if you choose there is a nice walk via the Soldiers footbridge that takes about an hour.
The flat is brilliant really homely with all the amenities you require.Owners Tom and Julie were a pleasure to deal with. On top of this we could take our beloved hound Charlie who was made to feel most welcome and couldn't get enough of the local countryside. Highly recommended.

Reviewed August 13, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

This is the second time we have stayed at Mountain View & once again we were delighted with the accomodation & location, just perfect. The flat is roomy & very comfortable & the access to the canal path is great for the dog. We were really sorry to leave but will be back soon.
