“One of the best family breaks we've had!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2012

We've just returned from Tyddyn Du with my children leaving in tears...questioning how soon we can return. We all fell head-over-heels in love with the area and this lovely farm gave us the excellent opportunity to explore from. The hospitality provided by Paula and family was fantastic and the interactive opportunity that the children had to help out with the farm activities was lovely, be that from feeding the lambs to mucking out the duck shed. Could not recommend the whole experience more highly. Thanks again Paula and will hope to see you again before long.

We found a vacancy at the sixth telephone call looking for a bed whilst touring Wales. What a find! We tour frequently throughout Europe and Tyddyn-du ranks as one of the finest B & B stops we have experienced. We are so glad the first five telephone calls to other options were unsuccessful. We will definitely return, probably more than once.

We stayed at Tyddyn du at the beginning of the month & had a wonderful time. Bara brith on arrival was fantastic after a long drive! The linen is so luxurious & the bed very comfortable, it's like home away from home! Breakfast was yummy & filling & could be tailored to what you wanted. We found everyone helpful & very accommodating & will DEFINITELY be returning in the future. Thanks to Paula & the team for making it such a lovely break for us!

We have just made our eighth visit to Tyddyn Du and despite a blizzard for half a day, the stay was a perfect break. With the large comfortable room, luxury bathroom, friendly animals and Paula's welcome, what more could we ask for? We will be back.

We stayed two nights in suite 2 and had a lovely stay. The views were beautiful and the suite was extremely well kitted out with more than you would expect from a B&B. We had the DIY breakfast which was great as you have your own little patio with table and chairs to sit out and enjoy breakfast with a view of the countryside. A form is left in the suite so that you can request the breakfast items you would like for the following morning.

Paula was extremely helpful and suggested several beautiful walks that we did in addition to Snowdon. Nothing was too much trouble and the farm dogs are very friendly.

Would definitely recommend Tyddyn Du as a base to explore this part of Wales. It's well placed to see more of North Wales than just Snowdon.

Second time here. First was in the summer. Despite the wet weather in August, we enjoyed it so much we came back again for the snow in April. We've stayed in both the self-catering and the B&B rooms. Can't fault it. Paula is great - happy to chat and give some local info and does a great breakfast. The animals are a big hit with the children.

For bikers, Coed-y-brenin is not far (and there's a walking trail there) and for walkers the whole of Snowdonia is on the doorstep.

There's a swimming pool at Porthmadog if the weather wins.

Room Tip: Stabal is a twin room so good for parents to have a bit of space when children gone to bed.

We stayed overnight in the cottage on a last minute whim and it was really warm and cosy. Extremely comfortable bed with luxurious linen and warm duvet. Lots of lovely individual touches such as bara brith on arrival and ground coffee. The farm itself is delightful with magnificent scenery and a variety of friendly animals that feed from your hand. We look forward to staying again. Thanks Paula
