“A beautiful house!”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We stayed at Gaer Hall for the weekend with a group of friends. We wasn't sure what to expect at first as there was only a few photos on the website. As we travelled up the drive it was obvious the photos hadn't done it justice, its a beautiful house and the views were lovely. Inside the house was just as nice, what was more appealing was it felt cosy and lived in, very family orientated too. Loved the large country kitchen which was very well stocked and the welcome gift of wine and chocolate cake was a lovely touch. the large living room was so comfy and relaxing we didn't want to move! Margaret the owner was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble, from moving beds around as there were only four double rooms and five couples , to putting Sky Sports on free of charge to watch the Rugby League Grand Final. Plenty of space and spent many hours just sat outside looking out over the fields. We will definately be booking again and maybe bringing the kids who would love the pool table and the large garden which is well stocked with toys and games. We were all sad to leave and would have loved to have stayed longer :-)

Thanks for that. We are constantly trying to improve our offer so I'm thrilled you had such a great time. And the Sky Sports will still be there when you come back next year with the children! ps I take your point about the photos. We're on the case, thanks again and see you soon, Margaret

“Plenty of space and lovely setting”
Reviewed November 4, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We stayed in the property over October half term. We were three families with five children. The accommodation was very versatile for our needs. Having the two lounges gave the kids plenty of space to make dens/dance/play and we felt comfortable that nothing was too precious around small children. Unlike earlier comment, all the appliances worked, both TVs, toaster, kettle etc.

The owners were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. They provided us with a welcome pack and were always available if we had a question.

The house has the most spectacular view and is quiet. There is plenty to do; local walks, Rodney's Pillar and Powys Castle are not to be missed.

Thanks for that great review. We have taken on board the earlier criticisms and pulled out all the stops to make Gaer Hall a fantastic place for families and groups. Having reared 5 children in Gaer Hall, I am very aware of the need to make the place feel welcoming to all our guests. We are aiming to provide a real "Swallows and Amazons" experience where it doesn't matter is someone breaks a glass. We want today's children to look back with fond memories - just as my own children do - of happy times at Gaer Hall.
