I booked a weekend here to celebrate Mum's 50th birthday, and I don't think I could have picked anywhere more perfect if I'd spent a thousand pounds.

Arriving late on the Friday evening, Pat was there to welcome us as warmly as old friends, and took delight in showing us around the stunning farmhouse of which she is rightly so very proud.

Ideally located just off the main road, it was easy to find and set amongst beautiful countryside scenery, yet only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute leisurely stroll into Bala where there are wonderful options to eat and drink.

We used the B&B as a base to explore the local area, spending a day walking around the Lake and then a day taking in Betws-y- Coed.

Breakfast is a feast for for a king, consisting of an entire sideboard filled with choices of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, hot fresh toast with too many spreads and toppings to count and then finished off with a delicious cooked breakfast prepared to your liking. All that washes down with freshly brewed coffee, tea and fresh juice...my mouth is watering just thinking about it all. Even with all of the walking, it was more than enough to set us up for the day with only a local ice cream needed at lunchtime to see us through to the evening.

We visited with a 13 year old who was especially taken by the horses on the farm, and whilst we didn't have a dog with us ourselves the fact that Pat welcomes dogs (with well behaved owners!) is a lovely touch and makes the place even more welcoming.

Packed with character, love and warmth...and that goes for the people as much as the buildings, we truly can't wait to visit again soon. Thank you very much indeed for making us so very welcome. :)

400 yrs old house refurbished to be a B&B. Interesting experience to sleep over there in a such ancient dwelling. You can have a real taste of the old Welsh past timings. Patricia (the owner) is very welcoming and courteous.
Price per night seems to be excessive due to the location (you need a car to move anyway) in the middle of the countryside.

We stayed here for one night. The guest house was very traditional and clean. The proprietor was extremely friendly and we immediately felt welcome. We had our Labrador with us and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was ample with fruit, cereals and yogurt and the cooked breakfast was fabulous. Thank you. We hope to visit again.

We stayed in Pen-Isa'r-Llan with our Son and family. It is a really interesting building with lots of period features. Great host, lots of choice of hot drinks in the bedroom and a wonderful breakfast. we will definitely be back.
