The hotel was well situated, opposite a river but the road was noisy. Quiet at night though. In a nice area in the mountains which was good for trips out but little to do in or around the town/village itself. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean but basic. However the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant does not cater for coeliacs. My husband had to have which food he could eat pointed out to him at every meal. Nothing of substance provided for him at breakfast at all. The food was similar every day but free wine was a bonus.

Room Tip: Higher up would give better views and less road noise

Stayed at this hotel for four nights as part of a walking holiday. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return. However, I would accept the hotel is in need of some modernisation and updating. Its days as a Grand Hotel seem to be long past.

My room had one double bed, TV, free safe, jacuzzi bath, air conditioning and an outside balcony. However the shower was hand held only as there was no means of attaching it to the wall. The view from the room was of the river Tech and the mountains beyond, lovely to wake up to every morning.

I thought the morning and evening meals in the restaurant were good. Breakfast is typically French with bread, yogurts, fruit, etc, but no cooked food. The evening meal included a good selection of starters, main courses and desserts, an excellent cheese board was also provided. Free wine and water were provided by the hotel. During our visit it was very hot and the absence of air conditioning in the restaurant was a problem.

The hotel has a swimming pool with a limited number of sunbeds and sun umbrellas located around the pool. During our visit it was always possible to use a sunbed. The hotel is located within a 10/15 minute walk of the town centre.

Warm welcome unfortunately the lift was out of order but the staff willingly carried luggage to our rooms. The room was adequate with lovely views over the mountains. Fair sized balcony with basic furniture. Great situation on the river and well placed for trips to Spain and southern France.
The only negative was the food bland and unimaginative, just about the same every evening. Bonus was wine included and very helpful staff.

Room Tip: Front overlooking the river and mountains.

Staff were very friendly and catered for our every need if they could. The food was very high quality. It was served as a buffet for breakfast and dinner with starters, mains and deserts with plenty of bread and cheese too. There were many salads as well as hot dishes. There were also plenty of vegetarian options including a delicious pasta dish. The lemon tart was particularly good. After dinner coffee was available in the bar. Red and white wine and water were included on the table at dinner. The ground floor walls were showing lovely paintings. The beds were comfortable but the rooms a little faded. The TV and phone in the room didn't work on my 4 night visit but there was free wifi in the room. The balcony had a table and chairs and overlooked the river and hillside opposite I could even hear the river which was very soothing.

Room Tip: 201 had a jacuzzi in the bathroom and a great view of the river and a safe in the wardrobe which you didn't have to pay extra for.

The hotel is clean and really well situated near the town centre. The staff was friendly. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat there. It is cheap enough and cost a third of the price than staying in collioure or argeles and it s only 30 mins away.
