We have just returned from our first holiday in Morzine. We booked into Donard, through Morzine Ski Chalets and was very disappointed with the standard of this accommodation. The main issues was that the apartment was dirty on arrival, with dirty towels behind the doors; Cupboards filled with other peoples things and broken remotes and phones. The sink smells when you run water to brush your teeth; The 'double' bed is two single beds pushed together, which is fine however one of the base was broken so the mattress sunk down into the base, very uncomfortable to sleep in. Neither of the 2 bedrooms have windows in them, very claustrophobic and the second bedroom is very small, with about 1 metre space to move. We did complain when we arrived to both the owner and the manager however they did nothing to rectify the issues. The manager did come back and polish the dinning table, although it was still sticky. The floors are not cleaned as the mop which they used was filthy and standing in the bucket n the tiny balcony, for us to look at! The staff for Morzine Ski Chalets are great, however they cannot do anything as they are only there for the ski season. I did ask the owner to arrange a new bed, however they where not in the situation to do that at the moment?! So instead they where happy to take the £1800 for 6 days, aware that I was not going to have a decent sleep. I would never write a bad review unless I really felt that this was not a fair situation. Family booked a apartment 3 x the size of Donard at half the cost in the centre of Morzine, not 5 mins out of the centre. Morzine is a lovely village with great skiing and we have already booked another apartment for next year, at half the price!
