The best thing about staying in the 'Old Grain Store' is you don't have to cook lunch because the riverside Mullichan cafe is the best cafe in Ireland - it has the best host (Martin), the best atmosphere, the best scenery (outside seating) and in 2013 the best weather too! The food is all home made by Emer and Mark and second to none. You can also swim, boat and fish beside the Old. Grain Store... Perfect!

We wanted a quiet restful place to stay in an area of natural beauty - and we got it. The cottage we stayed in was well equipped, airy and comfortable and the location is outstanding. We walked (including a climb of nearby Brandon) canoed and rested in this peaceful spot. On arrival we were greeted with home made scones and wine and the owner went out of his way to be helpful.

Lunch, then coffee and a scone or sumptuous desert in the adjoining Mullican Cafe is a must! The 'craic' from Martin is the best floor-show in the region! And the view from the terrace rivals the best views anywhere. Don't miss it!

The old grain store apartments are a wonderful getaway from the rat race. Located on the banks of the barrow with many wonderful woodland and riverside walks. If you are feeling energetic its only one hour and ten mins to the historic town of Graignamanagh, and if you are feeling very energetic you can make the return journey and then relax in The Mullichains Cafe and sample Emers delicious home cooking.
