You can go through a turnstile (£1) for a short 10 min walk to the devils punch bowl and the bridge.
Across the road there is an entrance to a walk that takes you up and down the valley; nice pathways, beautiful views and a couple of waterfalls. There are good view points where you can relax. There are some very steep steeps called Jacobs Ladder - the depth of som of them was up to my knee. Luckily the walk is circular and you only have to go down them not up. The ground is rocky and uneven so you should have sensible shoes on. Signs stated an entrance fee of £3.50, which I paid to the person at the entrance, I later noticed £2 sign on an unattended turnstile. There is a turnstile at the exit so you do not have to leave by a set time. I went in the early evening (spent a couple of hours) and liked not having the pressure of a closing time. There is no lighting so you would not want to be there after dark though. You could walk around in less than hour if you did not take time to relax and enjoy your surroundings.
You can get the steam train from Aberystwyth, visit, then get the train back.
This is two seperate walks on either side of Devils bridge. The punchbowl is on one side and costs £1 per person and the waterfalls are on the other side costing £2 per person.
My favorite part was on the side of the waterfalls, they were so impressive and i liked how there was a board explaining some of the history about the cave there.
I would deff bring a camera and walking boots as some of the ground is slippery or loose.
The punchbowl walk only lasts about 10 mins but the waterfall walk is said to last a minimum of 45 mins.
My husband and I visited Devil's Bridge on a overcast and drizzly day and apart from making the steep steps on the walk a bit slippery it still was a great attraction.
We intended to do the Nature Trail (45 mins minimum) but as we arrived via the Rheidol Railway steam train (see my Rheidol Railway review) we didn't have time and had to make do with Punch Bowl walk which was still excellent but really quite short. This isn't a bad thing, we were simply disappointed not to be able to do the full walk.
The steps are a bit slippery in the wet (although there are railings to hold on to) and they are steep so their website (http://www.devilsbridgefalls.co.uk/) is good to advise that it's not recommended for anyone who may be vunerable in this situation.
The walks are great value at £1 for the Punchbowl and £3.50 (adult) for the Nature Trail. Another thing to note is that the entrance gates are rather tight!
You can get here by car and by the steam train, I'd like to go back and do the Nature Trail. Also, the cafe/shop opposite is very accomodating and friendly. I thoroughly recommend this attraction.
