Description: The Priests House is a function venue specialising in weddings, medieval banquets and other family celebrations, together with being an occasional fine dining establishment especially catering for Sunday lunches. The Priests House is set on a grade 1 site in he shadow of the ruin of Barden Tower in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The house itself was originally built to be the chapel and accommodation supporting the 100 or so residents of the Tower. It is truly medieval building and retains many of the original features. The House itself can only dine up to 34, but for larger events we have two marquees which can be set up alongside. The views and scenery on all sides of the house are fabulous.

We recently had the privilege of getting married at this lovely venue. We had a truly amazing day and would just like to extend our gratitude to Debbie and her team who were all utterly fantastic.
They made both ourselves and our guests feel calm, relaxed and very welcome and could not have done enough for us to make sure we were happy on our big day, despite the rain.
The venue and it's setting is absolutely stunning and has been restored impeccably, the people are lovely , professional and very accommodating and the food was fabulous! We had so many guest comments on the beautiful setting and how wonderful they thought the food was on the day. I honestly don't know how they managed to keep to that gastronomic standard for 70+ people.

A Truly fabulous wedding experience.

Thank you

What a beautiful place to get married. The staff were great, very friendly and attentive. The wedding breakfast was amazing hats off to the chef.

The setting of the venue is brilliant, if I had to give one tiny down side is that there is only one toilet and it was up two flights of stairs there was a portaloo outside and extra one would have been great!

With this I would still highly recommend anyone get married here 5 stars well done to all the team.

Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a lovely wedding.

Re toilets. As it happens work is starting in the next few weeks to build new toilets adjacent to the chapel. This will provide 3 cubicles including a specialist disabled one. Given the Chapel is a grade 1 listed building this has taken a little time to organise...

I attended a wedding in the chapel of the Priests House and it was absolutely beautiful. The surroundings are lovely and the children frolicked around the grounds all afternoon. We enjoyed a drink or two in the bar. The wedding was wonderful we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Came here on Sat.5th of may 2018 for a friends Wedding and it was a superb day! We were very lucky with the weather and it was sunny and very warm all day.The Venue has the Olde world charm and Romantic backdrop and the Chapel is quaint and especially with a piano player it makes the Day quite emotional. The food served was first class! Very tasty and well presented.Staff here are friendly and hard working.Nice garden with seating and Barden tower,s background helps the photos too.

We got married at Barden Tower aka The Priest House 11th Nov 2017 and oh my goodness what a day. We just want to relive the day from start to finish over and over again.

The actual venue:
Our colour theme was a deep red/burgundy and we wanted the day to feel romantic with beautiful flowers and lighting. I am being completely honest when I say, we literally did no planning and basically told Debbie what we wanted; she ‘got’ our vision and created the most spectacular day.

Debbie actually did the flowers for us herself; we opted for this rather than bringing in a 3rd party florist, after all Debbie knows her venue better than anyone and knows what works and oh my goodness, does she!

The Food:
It’s insane, incredible, amazing, fantastic. My wife and I are the biggest foodies; if the food isn’t up to scratch then the whole day is ruined in our opinion….. let me tell you, the food knocked the ball right out of the park.

Value for money:
All I can say is that every pound we spend for this day was the best and most valuable pound we’ve ever spent. What is also incredible about arranging your wedding with the team at Barden Tower is that they actively look for ways to save you money. For example, we naturally were going to opt for Champagne, Debbie the host actually advised us that the prosecco that they serve is a fraction of the price and yummy

The staff:
They were all brilliant! Our guests loved every single one and they are still being spoken about a months later. The words id use to describe them as a team ‘highly professional but very relaxed” these too attributes combined really do add to making the day perfect in every way.

Well, what can I say about, as we now call her ‘Are Debs’; she amazing! Debbie is so relaxed during the entire process from the first meeting to the actual big day. Seriously there were times in the very early days (when we felt it was normal to stalk the venue) when we wondered if they day would come together due to Debbie’s relaxed nature. We soon realised when we sat down to give her our vision that we had nothing in the world to worry about. From that moment, which was about 6 weeks before the big day we were living the most amazing few weeks of wedding joy.

To conclude; we’d read on here a number of reviews on the run up to the big day and felt in all honestly they were too good to be true. Well honestly, they’re not. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
